hi everyone,

i just got my htc touch about a week ago, and after fiddling with the pda phone and even reading the manual, i still haven't figured alot of things and i have ALOT of questions which i hope some of you can help me out (please excuse my newbie-ness!)

1) speed
i) the phone is sluggish. is there anyway i can speed this up? i read somewhere on this forum that one can overclock the processor,
how do i do that? what other notable side effects long term and short term?
ii) is the RAM+ROM upgradable? where can i upgrade it if i could and for how much?

2) UI
i) is the touchflo interface customizable? meaning, can i add program shortcuts into the touchflo?
ii) is there an easier method of customizing ringtones? because to set an mp3 as a ringtone or sms tone, i need to copy the .mp3 or
wav files into specific folders (windows\rings and the windows folder) in order to select them from the settings>sounds and
notifications

3) program errors
i) i tried logging on WLM and i managed to connect to the service and get online but i do not see any of my contacts online. they
however can see me and msg me, only then i can converse with them. any clues how to rectify that? also, their contacts appear on
my phone contacts. is this normal?
ii) i tried surfing http://m.youtube.com/ on IE, and while the video streams on WM6, it gives an error message.

4) customization
i) i've seen pictures of some customized htc touch phones, where their Launcher(on the htc today screen) has more available shortcuts than the original (extra 5 slots) and have extra buttons beneath the screen on WM6. is the customization more convenient? does it have known bugs?

hi all,

i'm getting used to the HTC Touch, thanks to all for your tips.

i tried to watch streaming videos from m.youtube.com from my device using IE, and unfortunately it gave me an error message (0x8007274d) while streaming it via WMPM. i googled for help and came across this HTC streaming player, but i still can't get the video to load, i received another error message (failed to connect). is there any OTHER way at all i can watch youtube from my HTC Touch? (i'm on wifi btw).
