Hi all, am new to this forum and am oso new to getting a pda. Am checking around on getting a new PDA and so far the htc touch seems to appeal to me most. drool.gif

I searched on websites and i found out that there is this new HTC touch that is with a 400mhz processor (not touch dual), are any of u all aware of it? i also saw this link (below) in lelong.com saying the touch 2 they are selling is 400mhz, any comments on this? and apart from that the HTC touch that i saw with 400mhz (also known as touch vouge/sprint touch) is a cdma fone, can anyone explain?

thanks smile.gif

Hi, Xperia sounds nice, but i doubt that it will be within my budget reach (2k +/-)... blush.gif

went to pda expert, they are selling xda atom life at 2k and it is running with processor speed of 624mhz and 1gb rom/64mb ram, just wanna check with you all on the following icon_question.gif :-

1) processor: higher equal to better rite? any pros/cons of such high end processor as compared to only 201mhz of touch? higher end processor will also mean more power consumption?

2) rom: 1gb rom compare to 256 rom, wat is rom used for apart from storing the OS? higher equals to better?

3) ram: 64mb vs 128mb, i would presume this will definitely be higher equals better since its the speed to run programs rite?

4) so does atom life that is with a higher processor with higher rom but lower ram be slower than touch since its ram is lower? how much diff will the high end processor make and when usually do we need stronger processor power (using gps?)

5) can we install touchflo n touch cube into atom life so it we can use it just like touch, but with stronger specs?

6) any atom life users here wanna share their exp with this pda? or better still user of both touch n atom life tat can give a comparison of which is a better make?

relli noob in this, so please give your expert opinions on all the pro/cons of both pdas as i will be deciding to make a purchase between these 2 probably within this week.

thx all notworthy.gif

Hi evilpuppy,

wanna ask, if i am to purchase the O2 life atom, and install it with the touchflo n the cube interface, will i be able to use it just like htc touch? swiping around n tapping around just using my fingers as can be done with htc touch? will there be any difference in the touch screen sensitivity (such as hardware/software/technology) between the htc touch and the O2 life atom...

thanx

Hi all, went to pda expert to get my htc touch (double memory), however i noted that my bluetooth ID is HTC_3450 and my hardware id is elf100, when i check my memory, it is correct as 256 and 128mb.

so wanna check with u all, i tot that double memory is supposed to be HTC_3452 and id is elfin or something like tat? how come mine is still the old model version?? any ideas?

does anyone know where i can change my bluetooth id name to something else rather than the default htc_3450? can tell me where to change it?

thanks all..

Hi evilpuppy, wat about the model code? HTC_3450 and elf0100 instead of HTC_3452 and elfin? i tot the new model should be 3452 as mine is with the higher memory capacity. Any ideas on this?

1) i believe RM1688 is HTC Touch (64MB Accessible RAM), my suggestion is to go for HTC Touch II (128MB Accesible RAM) which will give you more memory and price would be around RM1899 ~ RM1999.

2) as a beginner, HTC Touch II is the best choice for simple usage for phone / sms / email.

3) the latest model is HTC Touch Cruise ( 128MB Accesible RAM / Wifi / 3G / GPS / Bluetooth )Price range around RM2899 ~ RM2999.

4) HTC Touch or Touch II most suitable for girls which it fit into their palm. but with Window mobile you can explorer further so my advise is to go for more powerfull device who know you might explorer deeper which touch or touch II  at that time not enuf for you. every pocketpc / phone will become slow if you to access too many programs if did not completely close it. most problem occur on pocketpcphone is incompatible applications which likely will hang your ppc. ppc wont hung often unless you know how to utilize your program usage. battery life 4hours max talk time with bluetooth on + wifi. to prevent scratch there is few case protector.

HTC_3450 - HTC Touch (Elf) - 128MB/64MB
HTC_3450 - HTC Touch Enhance (Elfin) - 256MB/128MB

Hi all,

isnt the HTC touch enhance code be HTC_3452? Cos i am just curious, the touch that i bought is the white colour enhanced version, but when i check through the system setting - device ID, it shows me HTC_3450 and also the hardware code is ELF0100 instead of ELFIN. (memory size is correct at 128/256)...

Can anyone clarify these to me, or is there anyone using the Touch Enhance that can check their pda's info and compare it to mine? Just worried mine is not the original but a modded set. Thanks.

Dont worry dude ... I got the same one as you ... as long as memory size is at 128/256 then confirm its touch enhanced d ... coz thats the only diffrence between touch enhanced and touch

you might want to try opera instead default IE, im using Opera to browse www.youtube.com instead m.youtube.com. then using mobileyoutube downloader to download.
try to google around for mobileyoutube downloader
here , i've been using this for a while.. good iphone skin and iphone applications on WM. look at youtube below very resposive.

OMG...this is freaking awesome...i wonder if it works as well on the HTC touch enhanced or not since the demo is using touch cruise which is a higher processing power pda.... hmm.gif
