Hey has anyone ever faced Active Sync problems? I had my XP reinstalled lately and I haven't been able to reestablish the sync relationship with the touch. Everytime I load the getting started CD it keeps telling me I have an old or corrupt flash player. After installing the latest flash player the freaking CD still says my flash player is out of date.

So I decided to just install Active Sync directly from the CD, and dammit now I can only explore and change files on my touch, it tries to synchronise my calendar and contacts but nothing happens.

The thing is, I already have MS Outlook installed on my pc. The main problem I'm facing right now is the stupid Get Started disc won't recognise my Flash player ver 9 and keeps insisting that I have an older than ver 8 flash player installed. Because of that I can't access the disc at all, except for installing ActiveSync 4.5 from the disc manually.

A friend of mine who just recently bought the Touch is having the same freaking problem. Sigh

without microsoft outlook the ActiveSycn can only explore your ppc contents, to sync your contact + appointments/task you must have microsoft outlook to do the sycn. try to install microsoft outlook which came from the installation CD provided.
yes, try here >>Active Sync 4.5

Sounds like a marvellous idea. Although, I did just that with my lappie, installed AS 4.5 and tried to sync but it doesn't work. Only able to explore and change files on my phone but won't sync.

My phone worked fine with the original install of AS 4.5 on my desktop, but after I had to format the OS and reinstall AS 4.5 it won't sync anymore. Same scenario as para 1 above.

Why don't you try this and tell me if you face the same problem or not? Uninstall your AS 4.5, then reinstall it. See if the phone will synchronise again? If it does then maybe mine needs a hard reset or something.

Cheers

huh.gif why you wanna use the "Get Started" disc? I got my Touch 2 days back, and prior to that I'd download ActiveSync 4.5... everything works flawlessly and I never bother to open the original CDs tongue.gif
