how can iPhone be over rated when its not even being sold worldwide?
Even so, os x is by far superior than wm. iPhone is also not about features and dorky functions, its about style and self actualisation. You don't see iPhone trying to look like wm phones
*
OS X is superior than WM u mean? functions? stability? programs?

I prefer WM coz it has freewares which I can use and custom roms which can be flashed to suit my needs ...

lol ... anyway we lari topic d ... better go back to HTC Touch ...

Its really a waste that HTC Touch Dual doesnt have wifi ... if not i would get it already ... argg xD

OS X pwns WM in every way man.

os x doesn't need such hassle to install custom rom's because it works great out of the box.

lol freewares....OS X can install 3rd party software and freewares on the fly with AppTapp.

unlike wm, you have to browse forums or websites to install which is still another hassle..

how far can osx(iphone) explorer?? can Iphone do what WM do?? how many website that you can browse for iphone applications compare to WM applications website?? and how much you going to pay for iphone applications compare to WM applications ?? can iphone custom rom? osx doesnt hassle to install custom rom / applications it is because iphone's only for those who love the stylish and media functionality and for noob user. WM is for advance user.

Hi evilpuppy,

wanna ask, if i am to purchase the O2 life atom, and install it with the touchflo n the cube interface, will i be able to use it just like htc touch? swiping around n tapping around just using my fingers as can be done with htc touch? will there be any difference in the touch screen sensitivity (such as hardware/software/technology) between the htc touch and the O2 life atom...

thanx

yes, you may install touchflo cube. but you must aware that these touchflo running flashlite + mortscript. i did install several version of touchflo on my htc touch and touch dual but the responsive on the cube not as good as original touch cube. as for tapping using finger you might have to tab harder. both htc touch and atom has different spec which atom doesnt come with touch flo tech (hardware).
i would suggest you go for htc touch cruise.

wahhh better chill it man ... later flame here and there then not nice lo ...

iPhone is not too bad as in in terms of their screen which is better compared to other WM phones but then I would agree on limited programs available for iPhone which includes 3rd party programs as well... WM phones are fun as you can really change everything you want and even tweak the phone to your liking ... I always get bored with my custom roms thats why I always flash them when there is a new one available ... I am going to start learning how to cook roms so i can make 1 for myself =) ... lets juz pray my HTC doesnt become a heavy brick ... ehehehe xD

P.S ... thx evilpuppy for teaching me how to flash the phone ... xD thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I myself is a Mac user, I love OSX but still i prefer WM on my mobile rather than iPhone, not because one is better than the other, but just for different needs. WM has support for many, many, many applications, also not because it is better, but just that it has been around for so many donkey years. And compatibility with MS Office & Outlook (which almost everyone is using at work) makes it a more convenient choice.

iphone already has a file explorer. actually WM can't do alot of things than iphone can do tongue.gif, actually iphone applications doesn't work like WM at all. iphone doesn't need to browse websites. it can install all 3rd party application from an installer. all you have to do is add more sources to the installer, then you have more and more 3rd party applications to browse through. WM doesn't have that smile.gif like i've said, iphone doesn't need custom rom because the firmware is already good enough.
i might admit to a certain extend that iphone is far easier to use than WM thus making it noob friendly and also WM is for geeks, hence not noob friendly as iphone but i've seen countless WM applications trying to work like iphone sweat.gif

iphone has a glass screen surface, WM has plastic smile.gif
i wouldn't say iphone has limited 3rd party applications.

actually i have both iphone and WM, so you don't really need to tell me how fun the WM is smile.gif

but iphone has alot of missing "normal" features as well doh.gif

so wanna check with u all, i tot that double memory is supposed to be HTC_3452 and id is elfin or something like tat? how come mine is still the old model version?? any ideas?

does anyone know where i can change my bluetooth id name to something else rather than the default htc_3450? can tell me where to change it?

Hi,

I know there are alot of guys here with alot of technical knowledge. I am a girl, and sooooo not tech savvy, so I had trouble deciphering some of the many 41 pages of this thread. I have the following questions, which I hope a kind and patient gentleman/men can help me answer wub.gif

I went to check this phone out and played around with it for about 45 minutes. It did what I basically needed it to do, and I am quite comfortable using the internet functions (which is primarily my reason for looking at ths phone in the first place)

Questions:-

1) I was offered RM1688. Is this a good price to be getting this at? the package comes with 2GB SD card + the usuals.

2) I will use it basically for phone, sms, email. Will the processor speed be sufficient? (I am thinking yes, but just to be sure) I don't really download alot of songs, tho I may have some. I don't play games or use multiple applications at once. I may use some office functions but I am guessing I will only be using most things one at a time.

3) Is there any news of the HTC launching a newer model in the near future? (I don't want to buy this and kick myself in the butt when they do if it's gonna be very very soon)

4) Any other input in concise and not technical format so I can understand will be very much appreciated. Comments like whether it is an overall user friendly phone, value for money, any noticeable kinks/problems after using it for a while, battery life, hangs often or not, durability as in easy to maintain or be scratched etc..

I have small hands and thus small fingers. I like the way it looks and how it fits my palm. I have no problems using my fingers as well as the stylus.

Thanks guys..really appreciate your time, comments and input. I have already gone to see it twice. First when I was shown it, second when I used it to send email and check internet just to try it out, and if I go again, it will definitely be to buy it and I want to go today if possible!! You know lah girls..when feel like buying want to buy straight away tongue.gif So if you guys can advise me before I buy and if this is a mistake, pls let me know soon!!

Thank you all kindly smile.gif

1) i believe RM1688 is HTC Touch (64MB Accessible RAM), my suggestion is to go for HTC Touch II (128MB Accesible RAM) which will give you more memory and price would be around RM1899 ~ RM1999.

2) as a beginner, HTC Touch II is the best choice for simple usage for phone / sms / email.

3) the latest model is HTC Touch Cruise ( 128MB Accesible RAM / Wifi / 3G / GPS / Bluetooth )Price range around RM2899 ~ RM2999.

4) HTC Touch or Touch II most suitable for girls which it fit into their palm. but with Window mobile you can explorer further so my advise is to go for more powerfull device who know you might explorer deeper which touch or touch II at that time not enuf for you. every pocketpc / phone will become slow if you to access too many programs if did not completely close it. most problem occur on pocketpcphone is incompatible applications which likely will hang your ppc. ppc wont hung often unless you know how to utilize your program usage. battery life 4hours max talk time with bluetooth on + wifi. to prevent scratch there is few case protector.
