so from you guys posts I concluded MX-1 is better for me since I don't like it when I need to reapply it every 3 months.

I wonder.. that AMD I bough 2 years ago or so do have thermal paste with it... but I never see if the HSF got it too or not.. since I'm noob in self assembling my PC.. so I brought all my stuff to the shop and ask them to assemble it (with cost ofcourse).

Now I'm thinking of learning to assemble it myself (my new C2D rig) and are quite panicked with the issue of assembling motherboard until the installation of HSF and PSU's pin.

One of the issue is ofcourse.. how to apply thermal paste sweat.gif

Thinking of getting ThermalTake Big Typhoon VX but ofcourse.. until the stock has arrived... I will have to use the normal HSF first.

That is why I asked...

Thanks for the answer guys smile.gif

*Gee.. so sad. I know a few good stuff about PC.. but couldn't self assemble my rig doh.gif

err... u can refer to mobo manual... proc also got manual... it's as easy or should i say easier than lego... juz a bit risk of dripping moisture n shock... i open AMD sc939 and sc754 b4... no tube thermal paste also... got the 1 stuck at HSF by factory only... same wif other Intel proc... i also heard certain batch got thermal pad... which my shop still got a few...

Hmm... perhaps mine didn't come with thermal paste too and I have somehow mistaken it with something else?? sweat.gif

Since I let the shop do it.. I didn't know if he do apply the thermal paste or not.

Most of the time you could apply a small amount of thermal paste roughly the size of a grain of rice on the middle of the heatspreader.

But there's a different method for C2D due to placement of the cores. Refer to

Thanks for the links.. smile.gif
