Hi.

Old rig.

CPU-Z stated that the current ram I am using (KVR800D2N5/2G) has 400mhz

So, KVR667D2N5/2G speed is 667mhz?

QUOTE
Also my old mobo supports 'DDR2 1200+/1066/800/667 MHz'

So, if I wish to use the optimum capacity...1200+ mhz is the one correct?

1. How do I identify such DD2 ram based on the writings on the ram?

2. Will it work together with my current 400mzh ram?

3. Will my 2N5/2G ram works well with a 2N6/2G?

Note: Was using the current ram together with 2x1GB (KVR800D2N5/1G); kaput already sweat.gif

"Standard" supported speed for ddr2 is 667/800, with 1066+ being possible in OC mode.

My advice is to stick with ddr2-800, so get another KVR800D2N5/2G to pair with yours to enable dual channel.

It will fit, and can run

By the way... what OS are you running? If 32 bit windows, it wont utilize more than 3.5 GB RAM

Old Core 2 Duo E7300
Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit

So the 4GB ram can run together with the 2GB?

Dual channel is not really a big concern for your rig
