Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask. Asked my friends if they know but no answer. If this is not a right place, tell me and i will close this post.

1. If anyone know how much to print postcard size photo at the shop? Like normal size photo? Just wanna print my kids photo, to keep it for a long time.

2. Is it worth it to invest on the personal photo printer? Price is kinda steep, but if it worth it in a long term why not buy my own.

Thank you.

1. 4R (4x6 inch) RM1.20 per piece or RM0.70 per piece above 20pcs. Can pm me for better bundled pricing

2. If you're planning to run the printer more than 4 times a week, by all means ... The upkeep of having a personal photo printer is way pricier than printing at a shop. Having that said, a higher capacity shop is able to print better quality photos with better tones and contrast provided it's able to print high DPI photos. Home usage printers are usually 300 to 600DPI for the higher range ones while shop owners(not everyone) tend to go for 1800DPI printers.

I have very less knowledge on printing section or photography , like as you said , only print at the shop but this time around I am deciding to get a home printing printer.
Out of the reason are
-Photo are taken from phone camera 8mp which I think a normal 600DPI 4r is enough.Just for basic photo viewing for elderly
-Sometimes , 1-5 piece sometimes 15 pieces , sometimes just 1-2.So I don't know whether it consider running a printer 4 times a week.No printing shop doing something like that 1-2 picture and cost a lot.Even a basic IC pasport size print cost more than RM2.
-Instant print , no need to drive and print and wait to collect.

Indeed those photo printer shop have better quality but mine was just basic printing.Just to add , actually what printer does those photo shop store buy ?

It is indeed a luxury to own a photo printer at home, if you can keep up with the maintenance and justify it with your usage then it'll be a worthy purchase easily.
Printing outside over at a shop is always expensive, that's why it's called business not charity. Photo printing prices are pretty much standard thou and you can't go far from the prices you just mentioned +/- RM0.50 for a piece of 4R.
Well, as much as i agree on this. Waiting time has been cut alot compared to the golden days of photo printing, albeit 10sec per 4R

You can google FujiFilm dry minilab frontier series for more info, Fujifilm is the leading brand in the photo printing industry within Malaysia currently.

I had been a year or more , I still can't decide which photo printer is suitable.
Out of the reason is there is no sample of photo from a printer.
No , review on printer photo website comparison.
No , guide which to choose for printer quality model which ( different region different model and ink type)
No , forum specific discuss on printing quality.

May I can consider a low budget CISS Epson L 3150 all in 1.Pretty sure quality is poor but at lease can do the job.

Should I create a new thread on this printer and hope some feedback from user who have it can give some review ?

The info on the Epson printer you mention ain't much, even if there is it's all about paper. I highly doubt it's photo printing capabilities.
Fortunately it's available in Lowyat Plaza, maybe you can dropby and inquire from the Sales rep and get a sample photo printed as well.

Sorry, can't be much help.
