Of course i understand it wont be in prestige condition for a long time, just hope it will last until the time when i can look back and say my babies grown up to be a good man and woman.
You mean to keep the photo in low humidity and temperature or to avoid them, to preserve it longer?
May i know what do you mean by professional photos? Those from the typical shop or got higher printer shop or something?
Notes: i plan to print the photos and another project is to frame my kids baby outfit e.g like those rockstar outfit we can see in HRC. Only that i''m not sure if i can make it (vacuum?) Inside the frame?
Before i say anything else and other ppl here kecil hati later, I have and continue to be a film photographer and do my make my own hand printed photos. So if anything my views can be a bit biased.
Almost no photos will remain pristine given time but at the end of the day it's a matter of how badly deteriorated it will become. Regarding photo storage look for white papers from Kodak. They have some of the best scientific papers on anything photography. Basically the general rule of thumb is low humidity, no light, low temperature. For printing nothing beats silver halide prints, followed by pigment inks followed by dye inks.
Silver halide (coloured) I am sure no one in Msia does it, the only option is B&W hand prints. They are rated for 1000 years. Pigment ink the only one I know of is Epson's K2 and K3 ink based printers and rated at 100/200 years. Dye based inks (which pretty much means everything else) could be a couple of years to maybe 100. Of course weather those test conditions matches our actual storage conditions or how much deterioration was the measurements made against is up for debate.
