I was turbo-ed to 300Mbps two days ago.

However, when I do a speedtest on my LAN PC and my Wifi PC, both were only achieving 102Mbps.

My BTU is Huawei HG8240w and my router is Huawei dual-band gigabit 1750Mbps WS880.

When I clicked on the check router and BTU in my email, I get a a request to change CPE.

What is a CPE?

cpe is customer premise equipment, i assume its your router..

My Huawei WS880 gigabit AC router is an ASUS RT-AC68U equivalent. Why should it need to be changed?

They're referring to the router they gave you. Definitely not the WS8880. Do you remember what it was?
*
It was an Innatech RG4332. I stopped using it after the first day, and used an ASUS RT-N12.

I then changed it to the current Huawei WS880 on July 2016, running Asuswrt Vortex (Merlin) firmware.

So will TM replace my Huawei HG8240w BTU instead? It seems to be restricted to 100 Mbps.

Here is my speedtest result.

Could it be TM wrongly capped my speed to 100Mbps?

I think you have not mentioned your PC spec, your LAN spec and your cable used to connect to LAN. (BTU-Router & router-PC)
Make sure your PC LAN port is Gigabit 10/100/1000 capable and you rare using at least cat53/cat6 cable to connect to your router. Also check your cable from BTU to router. All make sure it is cat5e or cat6 at least.
*
The first thing I did was to rule out my LAN cable.

I used both the Cat5e cable from the Huawei 8240w box and then the Cat5e cable from my Huawei WS880 gigabit AC1750 router,

Both cables were used to connect the router to the BTU. Both gave the same 100 Mbps result

Your BTU is probably capped to 100Mbps.

I think so too.

Because I received this activity status in my Unifi login account

See attached.

Either that, or TM wrongly capped my turbo speed to 100 Mbps instead of 300 Mbps.

Nothing unusual, my BTU was supposedly capable of going upto 1Gbps but eventually capped to 100Mbps. Raised a report with TM and the technician changed a new BTU to me after few troubleshoots from him and didn't help. Now I'm getting what it is supposed to be.

Thanks for sharing, fruitie.

I think the problem is with my Huawei HG8240w BTU as well.

I am waiting for the technician to come to troubleshoot smile.gif

Looks like the same problem that fruitie faced. Same equipment even, HG8240W and WS880. CPE is customer premise equipment but not sure if TM means that to be the BTU and the router or just the BTU.

Anyway if they change the BTU for you, you'd be OK.

Can you check if your BTU ports are set to 100Mbps? Plug your PC/laptop directly to it and see the link speed.
*
I displayed the WAN link status from my router to the BTU and it shows 1,000 Mbps full duplex.

The capping of 100 Mbps must have been done at the BTU side.

Please see attached

Why don't you use speedtest?
