like you said, I went to safemode with network, the upload speed is always 204mbps.

ookla chrome 88mbps
tmspeedtest chrome 301mbps

ookla chromium 90mbps,
tmspeedtest chromium 302mbps

ookla opera 87mbps
tmspeedtest opera 302mbps

ALSO I tested my Cat5e cable too, switching ethernet ports with my Cat6 cable, same results.
I did a little bit of googlin and went through regedit, cpu-z validator. I don't have spectre mitigation enabled, It's not even patched cuz I never update my windows  sad.gif .

should I just give up and call TM to send their technician over?
*
Had the same issue. Troubleshooted using all methods found in this forum. Called up technician. Changed the modem another one time, (Dlink 842). Speedtest was promising, but to be monitored for a few days for the dl speed stability

Anyone using Dlink DIR-842, hardware version C2? Can please share your download spd/upload spd/your package

technician came my home and changed the router, this is the second DLINK i got from TM. the first Dlink was suspected malfunction, and they changed the new Dlink same model, believe it can delivers speed up to 80% of my plan

Wifi 5Ghz - standing in right in front of the modem 366Mbps download/192Mbps upload (800Mbps) plan, is this the optimum speed i expect for?

Guys, would like to ask, i cant get 800Mbps on my Lan cable connection, only maxed 300Mbps download. i have bought the USB > RJ45 lan adapter, it says support gigabit, and im using cat 6 cable as well. the port used for this adapter is USB3.0.

However my brother laptop can reached 800MBps, can anyone teach me how to solve this?

USB->RJ45 adaptors are not built the same. I will tend to suspect that first. Have you done some internet searches on your particular brand and what speed rate it can achieve?
*
When i plugged in my brother laptop, it worked fine. However, when plugged in my laptop, it wont go pass 300MBps, which is weird.

He insisted he never update his windows and didn't want to mention his laptop/desktop CPU model stuff.

No further reply from him/her on CPU overheating throttling.

sorry bro, haha, too many comments in a night.
tot to reply after work, after that i cant seem to remember, my bad, so sorry
the previous issue solved with a new modem replacement by TM
line speed now can achieve 800Mbps with lan cable (but on my bro laptop)

my laptop
model : k46cb
Processor : i5-3337U
Ram : 6GB
USB 3.0 x 1 (i assume, as the port is blue color, where i plugged in my RJ45 usb adapter)
Adapter : ASIX AX88179 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Lan adapter within laptop : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Oh.....that fiber cable damaged excuse?  tongue.gif

Anyway, currently TM has routing issue.
Windows version?
CPU temperature? (Got a feeling your issue is overheating instead of microcode)
*
window version : window 10 home single language (constantly gt window update)
temperature : when i did my last speed test, it never exceed 60 celcius, i deleted the screenshot and app afterwards. sweat.gif
or you can share me the link and i do the test again?

Oh....and someone said he disabled windows update.....  rolleyes.gif

rolleyes.gif

Disable both spectre and meltdown mitigation via registry and reboot.

To disable mitigations for CVE-2017-5715 (Spectre Variant 2) and CVE-2017-5754 (Meltdown)

CODE
reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 3 /f

reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" /v FeatureSettingsOverrideMask /t REG_DWORD /d 3 /f

Then connect your cable to Lan adapter within laptop : Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. REMEMBER TO disable your WIFI. Make sure 'Balanced' power profile is selected and the laptop is powered via main electricity.
Speedtest at TM, InNeT, Extreme Broadband and Macrolynx servers. Report back
*
hi bro, this is the speedtest results i got. still not exceeding 300Mbps/800Mbps with cable attached to my own laptop LAN port.

i attached my bro laptop speed test with lan cable as well.

Dude, you have overheating issue.

Try to use table fan and blast the wind right on the bottom of laptop.
Speedtest and see if you can 'turbo' while monitoring the temperature.
*
bro, but there is this weird thing. when i temp off my kaspersky, my speedtest went up to 400Mbps, but not up to 800Mbps, it shoot up temporary from my constant tests of average 250/800Mbps download

Could it be the anti virus thing?
and i also did the safe mode with networking, steady 400Mbps, still, not satisfied, no nearer to supposedly 800Mbps

You got upgrade your ethernet port or the wifi card firmware?
Try monitor your task manager when speed testing

Yes, kaspersky is known to slow down LAN transfer by half  nod.gif  Please disable it. I was expecting you to use Windows built-in antivirus in first place. laugh.gif

Next, how about the stuff I asked you to do? Aim a table fan to the bottom of your laptop and try to ensure temperature below 55'C and do a speedtest?
You should be able to reach 780Mbps when the temp is around 55'C.
If so, then you better clean the CPU heatsink, fins, fan + reapplying thermal paste.
*
ok, i will try to do it tomorrow. gotta to find a fan first. haha.
i will update here once it is done.
oh, i think i should mention this
my laptop basically now function as CPU, i close my laptop lid, and connected hdmi cable to my monitor
does it cause the temp increase?

looks like your cpu is bottlenecking. Have you ever try the original ethernet port and the result are the same as the adapter one too ?The adapter is rated usb 3.0 ? and did you plug it into usb 3 port ? If your laptop is quiet old already  , try clean some dust inside ur laptop and apply new layer of the thermal paste on it.
*
yes, it is rated USB 3.0, and i plugged in one of my laptop USB port, which is blue color as i seen, i suppose that is a USB 3.0 port?
tried both original ethernet port and adapter, same result

No idea on market price.

Anyway, before you send it to shop, DO BLAST WIND from table fan to the bottom of the laptop and verify if you can get higher speed.  yawn.gif
