Hi,

I am thinking to switch from Maxis 10Mbps to Unifi 100Mbps.

May I know the procedure?

And whether the Unifi is stable?

My current Maxis is ride on TM infra, so far there is no problem from the beginning.

Thank you.

UniFi is stable. Go and register with agent or TM Point, wait for installation.

May I know what is the router that Unifi will provide for 100Mbps package?

And the Dect phone is still available?

Thank you.

Hi,

Want to ask something on the Unifi 100Mbps package.

I am Maxis Broadband user previously. I went to TM point at Quill City Mall to apply for this package.

However, the officer said that the Hypp TV setup box is not included, if I want it, I have to add RM 30 per month. The Unifi TV channel provided in this package only can view via Apps.

May I know whether is it true?

Thank you.

Dear All,

may I know the Unifi Setup Box for Hypp TV can connect to either 1 of the Lan port from the router?

Thank you.

Switching off the antivirus? Bold move. Hope you won't regret the decision.
Probably got hacked. That router is ancient and full of vulnerabilities. Please check if remote access is disabled. If it is enabled, it is easy for someone to remotely access it and hack it to oblivion.
Yes, but you will need to tag the port you want to use with the correct VLAN which is 600.

Can I connect in such as a way like

from router port 3 to another network switch

then I connect this network switch with a AP and the setup box for internet and TV usage?

Can’t remember, but I can try logging into some users’ DIR-615 router and let you know  laugh.gif

Seriously though, it is somewhere in the settings. I honestly can’t remember now.
I don’t think this is possible. Haven’t done it before, but don’t think it is doable according to your way.
Not really Unifi problem. This is more like general Internet safety procedures.

Thanks a lot.

No you can't do that with consumer routers & basic switch. I guess you need something like below. Not sure if third-party firmwares eg WRT / Tomato can do this:

[attachmentid=10103585]

Don't shoot me if I'm wrong. Still learning icon_question.gif

Otherwise use Powerline for HyppTV.

Seems a good idea but don't know how to setup it here.

the Smart Network Switch cost how much?

Just bought a D-Link DIR-868L, which supports Tomato firmware & VLAN untagging.

I will config with my TP-Link SG108E later, probably this weekend. My smart switch is around RM109. There's a cheaper SG105E but it's only 5-port.
*
Please do update us the status once you got it.... haha.... thanks in advance.

btw, if using the router provided by TM, whether can merge the 2 nos. of the VLAN port?

After scratching my head last night trying (without success) to flash DD-WRT into my D-Link DIR-868L, I'm back to using Powerline for my HyppTV, but forces the port on my SG108E to 100mbps only.

Will monitor for few days.

Bro, that is great.... but why cannot set to 1000Mbps?

Thank you.

Anyone can recommend cheap and reliable router which is having VPN server features?

TM installed mine with Dlink 842 router which don't have this features.

Thinking to get another 1 to replace.

Thank you.

im surprised. nobody recommend yet powerline to extend wifi connectivity. anybody can share?

I am using Aztech HL119EP, it is stable can cater for 100Mbps in my house if using LAN cable connection.

Most of the time, it is connected to my upstair Asus RT-N14UHP, due to it is only 2.4g wifi connection, so the speed around 40Mbps only.

Nope. It is really not. Disable IPv6. I suggest the TP-Link Archer C7 v5 at least.
*
May I know why disable the IPv6 can make it work?
Because I also noticed that loading youtube is slower (Unifi 100Mbps) compare to Maxis Home Fibre (my previous package is only 10Mbps).

Thank you.

IPv6 is not implemented that well so disabling it is the best option for now. If you still feel that loading YouTube is slower, try changing router. It could possibly be that.

May I know how to disable my DIR-842 HW:C2 FW:3.01TM IPv6?
It is current show :-

Connection Type: Local Connectivity Only

WAN IPv6 Address: Not Available

Default Gateway: Not Available

Thank you.

See here: http://www.wilsoncommunications.us/pdf/dli..._User_Guide.pdf

Page 32. But, yours don’t seem to be enabled, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks.
Actually, my house setup is like below:-
1. Ground Floor: TM Modem + TM Router (Dlink 842) + Home Plug( Aztech HL119EP)

2. First Floor: Home Plug (Aztech HL119EP)+Asus RT-N14UHP (Set as AP mode) (tested with cable connection, PC can get 100Mbps)

I have tried again. If I connect to Dlink 842 directly (2.4g / 5g) to load the youtube, it has no problem to load the Youtube.

But when I connect to the Asus router (2.4g), then my handphone and my wife handphone is very slow to load the youtube, however, if PC connect to asus rounter (2.4g), PC has no problem to load the youtube.

But I have no problem last time when I use Maxis router Tricolor, eventhough it is only 10Mbps.

May I know what is the problem actually?

Thank you.

Maybe you want to disable one of the 2 2.4Ghz SSID. 2.4 GHz WiFi maybe congested. Just use 5 GHz for and 2.4 for upstairs or vice versa depending on your priorities.

Did you have this same setup with the tricolour router?
Was it the AP like the Asus is now?
*
Yup, same setting and setup connection like using Maxis Home Fibre previously, but has no problem with Maxis.

Just after switch to Unifi then problem started.

May I know whether I can use Cisco RV130 VPN router connect to the TM BTU for getting the Internet and setup the VPN server?

Then use the existing Dlink DIR842 router as a AP with connecting to the Cisco RV130.

Thank you.

Hi,

May I know that whether I can set the Dlink DIR842 port no.4 to internet instead of IPTV by default, because the RM129 package does not come with the Hypp TV box, so no device to connect for Hypp TV.

Thank you.
