I'd suggest the Advance variant. Apart from the (subjective) better looking rims and skirts, you get VSC which is strangely lacking on the lower specced variants. I think it's pretty crucial on a narrow and light car with a relatively high center of gravity. On top of this you're getting creature comforts like faux leather seats, push-start and the touchscreen head unit with reverse camera (always useful, even if you're used to eyeballing it). Eco Idle/engine start-stop might be annoying but you can disable it with a press of a button.

Maybe you should test drive both variants and decide if it's worth the price difference.

You forgot the mention airbags... I think the advance have 4 or 6 airbags compared to lower spec variants.
Accident time, survival is key, I have standard sedan cars get whack by trailers and its scary!! icon_question.gif

The Bezza only has 2 front airbags throughout the range.

Like the previous poster said, for better safety within a similar price range, it might be better to look at the Iriz or Persona - 6 airbags and ESC across the range (and tougher steel too, I heard), even though both the Bezza and the Protons achieved 5-star ANCAP ratings.

iriz/persona only top spec 6 airbag , that also about 55k for top spec.

Proton use up to 1500mpa grade steel , while Perodua use 590.

those test were base on a car hitting a wall , at this time the car will just need to cover it own weight
while at real world , when you are hitting a heavier and bigger car , you need to cover the stronger one.
this might be a great example , a kid fist vs a man fist , both hitting the wall feel the same pain on themselves , but when the kid vs the man .........

accord has 4star ncap and bezza has 5star ncap
____________________________________________________________________________

info about safety for car can be find on various test lab website , iihs.org , euroncap , aseanncap , ancap

this is for everyone

a few rules to judge a car safety although not necessary true
( example the Mazda CX5 that drop to sea from penang bridge , because higher car has higher center of gravity , thus more chance to have roll over )

1. size ( the bigger the safer )
2. weight ( the heavier the safer )
3. height ( the higher the safer )
4. structure and design

then should be those safety feature , also a car handling like moose test etc.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcD4WeuiI3s << an example of both car with 5star rating.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NESquSzqPHM << volvo

the use of rating -
let say kancil , they cant even save themself and failed at test
kancil vs kancil - both car will gone
bezza vs bezza - both car will safe

atlast , speed kill , regardless of protection.

Drive a Ford Ranger XLT 2.2. Full specs with 6 airbags. Definitely safer then any sedan or SUV.

I've taken the Bezza long distance. It's not ideal but drive sensibly and you'll be fine. You'd be surprised at the number of older vehicles with no active or passive safety tech making long trips up and down the peninsular every day.

I know, and I have personally witness horrible deaths by car accidents on the NSE. Damn scary. Body parts fly here and there. Bulu roma stand when think of it.
