QUOTE(TreyLey @ Nov 2 2018, 09:45 AM) usually most detectors here prefer to hunting on a smaller scale of group or alone. But since the last Detectival 2018 held in UK last month (and few of our guys been there) triggered to do the same event locally. But this time in participation of fews local authorize dealers compare to last time on their own single initiative. I would say this event is much bigger than the previous, a Equinox 600 is one of the middle level beast machine to win. |

Im sure it has become a big interest among Malaysian and who knows one might find this as their full time job and become the indiana jones of Malaysia since there are so many treasures yet to be unearthed in this country reminds me of the vid i saw few years back on youtube of a full time hunter in Rio Brazil working everyday with his machine along the beach in rio trying to find missing jewelleries that belong to the beach goers. btw what model do u own? did u find anything so far? |

QUOTE(TreyLey @ Nov 2 2018, 10:21 AM) Im sure it has become a big interest among Malaysian and who knows one might find this as their full time job I know some of my friends of the friends, they are doing full time of metal detecting. Yup, not doing the ordinary job just like all of us doing. These people sleep in car, cook under the tree and will be out 2-3 or more days in a week. The results, new and old jewelries, from gold, silver to gems stone. Moving from beaches to beaches, waterfalls to streams cross the states. Usually on Monday as weekends are the days where beach goers slipped their precious from their wrist and fingers. Best time during the low tide, so tide chart is crucial to know.and become the indiana jones of Malaysia since there are so many treasures yet to be unearthed in this country reminds me of the vid i saw few years back on youtube of a full time hunter in Rio Brazil working everyday with his machine along the beach in rio trying to find missing jewelleries that belong to the beach goers. btw what model do u own? did u find anything so far? Some others like myself, only doing it as a hobby during weekend or any holiday. I am having a Quest Q40 and a Xpointer Pro also from Quest, not a high end device but good enough for my type of activity. Detectorist usually will go hunt into 2 main type of activities, relic and jewelry. Relic is more to go for artifacts, how historical and the rare the item are, the value will be translated to good money, but depending on bargaining. The buyers mostly from the private collectors or antique shops. Last few months we went to Melaka, and brought out the coins from the Sultanate and Portuguese era. Sold some of them. Found some golds, mostly rings and some detached necklace or small lockets, only weighing around 1gm or less. |
