Hi guys, need some advise, my mba2017 still under warranty, possible for me to replace the ssd without void the warranty?

if possible, which kind of ssd can I use? I saw number of them using an adapter than connect with a normal m.2 ssd? can I use the cheap ssd like ADATA?

thanks.

Again becos space not enough rite? Must be 256gb or below storage option u own.

U have AppleCare? Else how come u still have warranty.

Replacing the internal ssd for macbook is not an easy task.

unfortunately, this is what I always tell myself - “pay cheap and buy twice”. I will not go for price only but make it can meet the needs especially future needs. this is why there are people who recommends others to get 128gb or 256gb storage options of macbook, I always against it. Especially 128gb one, it is always not ‘usable’ in long run, even an iPhone has larger storage than it (most ppl are going for 256gb option unless XR 128gb)

I think there are third party ssd u can buy to upgrade. price wise I think it is not very cheap also. do it yourself for the replacement or get third party shop to do then depends which option is more comfortable for u.

Hi, thank you for your advise and I made my decision to purchase mba2017 128gb as the reason already state, I not a professional of doing programming nor graphic designer but just as normal use, I was thinking to upgrade the storage is I can save more song or movie biggrin.gif

the ssd for 512gb is about 300 for ADATA and the adapter is about 50, my question is possible the ADATA or something third party SSD put in can work and without void the warranty, haha.

if u happened to any modification to ur macbook, the warranty will be voided.

technically, if apple sees that you had 'touched' your macbook before, they will not 'touch' it also.

in this case I will just keep my data in cloud, thanks ya.

Hey guys, which would you’ll recommend the MacBook Air 2017 (Rm3.2k) or the MacBook Air 2018 (Rm4.4k)?

Converting from Windows to Mac.

Need a new laptop and I only use it mainly for the following purposes:

1.Social Media:Instagram,Facebook
2.E-Mails
3.Surfing the net for articles
4.Microsoft Office for work purposes:drafting contracts and spreadsheets

Is the additional Rm1.2k for the Retina Display worth the money?

I just own a MBA 2017, actually I think is worth to invest another 1.2k to get new MBA, especially the phone you using now is in HD u will notice MBA2017 got blur on the text, although it not that bad.

if you don't, actually ok as well, since the requirement by you is not that high, I use it for web programming and photoshop, it work fine btw other then the screen not "sharp" but still acceptable by me.

oh... 1 more thing, I got USB port for that laugh.gif

Already said before no point to go for non-retina display stuff at this age.

I think u might have regretted for not going for 256gb/512gb storage option at least as well.

agree with the point to go for retina at the this age.
