i thought the current price is the lowest price amd can go for dual-core? Or is it for Opty based only? Is it more decreasing of price due to Intel Price slash on this July? sweat.gif

By the look of it, its for the Turion, Opteron and FX series only..No decrease in the X2. Might be due to the fact that they are already rock bottom..

Dual-Core AMD Opteron 170 $112
Dual-Core AMD Opteron 165 $93

after times 3.5, It is still too cheap..
But i think it is difficult the get that price in Malaysia. sad.gif

Nice price cut, it's very tempting indeed, just that when i look at their L2 Cache vs Intel's C2D, i get discouraged smile.gif

Will Intel further counter by slashing the price after July's price cut?

oh. do you really feel that a high L2 cache for C2D(2X2MB) is much faster than AMDX2 (2X1MB)?

AMD processors are built in memory controller, the architeture is totally different .That why AMD processor don't need a high L2 cache still can done well . smile.gif

P/S Pls correct me , if i get a wrong information. I am still hardware beginner here smile.gif

No. Not that I know of. they seem to be quite cool in contrast to the older AMD's.
