Exceed 1GHz HTL improves integrated gc? I don't know that either. Well push a bit can lar, but too much might damage it soon.

well, you nv OC b4 doesn't mean that it is forbidden to OC it. Chinamen love to OC their HT link very much. So far i nv heard any of them complain their mobo spoil. Btw, try not to exceed 1200 for daily usage. Of coz, the best is keep it around 1000

Is there anyway to get the 8 pin version? hmm.gif
I ll check it out with CZone...
*
I don't think so. As far as i know, this is just another trick from biostar, but you can check it out whether it is true or not. Btw, i think that it is not a big deal as not many PSU can support 2X4 Pin also and the absence of 1 mosfet in each phase doesn't affect much in normal usage.

IC. I am thinking of getting the 8 pin version coz my PSU has 8 pin power supply.
Tailow, btw among 690G, TF7050, TF560, which MOBO would you recommend?
Thanks.
*
TF7050 would be my choice, but you can try TA690G as well. Personally i prefer nvidia chipset mobo coz i've trusted nvidia so far and it has nv fail me b4 smile.gif

p/s: wow, just realized that there are many people using biostar mobo. Maybe next time we can form 'LYN Tforce LAN Party' or 'Biostar OC Rig show off party'............ thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I've got an off topic question here.

How long is the warranty for Biostar Tforce mobo? One year or two years?

click every page or google... seriously it will give some idea rather than asking the same thing all over again...

TF7050
-got HDMI,VGA,S-Video,no DVI
-max shared onboard graphic 256Mb

TF560
-no builtin gpu
-donno support HTT3.0 or not
-donno support split power plan (separate vcore and memory controller voltage)
-ofcourse can support AM2

TA690G
-got HDMI,VGA,S-Video,DVI
-max shared onboard graphic 512Mb
-better graphic performance than TF7050

all can do 340fsb..
take TF560 for future proof.. but i doubt it's a native AM2+ board..
maybe can share with us later how's it perform...

my TF7050 comes along with a HDMI to DVI convertor icon_idea.gif

I mean in term of "overclockability and performance" over the 3 chipsets, even from the same manufacturer different mobo chipsets should perform  different performance!

There is a motherboard statistic on the first page of this thread. Maybe it is useful for you. Take a look smile.gif

QUOTE(ryanso85 @ Aug 1 2007, 06:18 PM)
hello bros here
i m new in socket AM2..

the pc spec i getting

brisbane 3600
biostar 7050
kingston 1G Ram
WD 160 sata2
silverston st400 psu

is this set up ok??

few ques here:
1)do i nid to update the bios of the mobo?
2)i heard got prob when detecting the WD hdd using this mobo, true?
3)is the psu compatible?

thx for the asnwer
*
hi, I'm user of TF7050, so i think i should be able to answer your question rclxms.gif

1) I'm using latest bios ( 0716 , haven't officially release in biostar website brows.gif ) , new hardware detected ( memory controller ) . So i think should update to latest bios (but latest bios in official website is 0615, if you wan the latest one from me, do let me know) .

2) Issit? I'm using WDraptor with this mobo. So far so good. I use HDtune to check for its performance, no performance decrement also.

3) Rarely heard compatibility problem with those branded PSU. I think should be no problem.

Congrat... Nice oc.
May I know what vcore you are using???

-pWs-

Thanks, my friend

I've pumped 1.68vcore. the vcore is extra pumped . Suppose it can run stably with 1.65vcore. smile.gif

I've got another new result for my Pi 1M as well. But kinda not satisfy with it , will try to oc again later on and see whether can get a better result or not laugh.gif

QUOTE(lohwenli @ Aug 2 2007, 11:03 PM)
Power regulators with many phases are only important if the CPU takes a lot of power, like those super hot Prescotts/Smithfield/Preslers. The additional phases means that the MOSFETs are stressed less, and are less likely to overload and limit current. Also, power regulators with fewer phases are also more efficient, less power lost as heat.

haha, thx for the elaboration

btw, why quote my words? Did i mention something wrongly there? IMHO, i think you should quote the question instead of my answer laugh.gif
