wat so big a deal for 3ghz while intel now can go up to 4ghz...
3ghz is nothing to brag about...

i quite shock with my brisbane 3600 paired with my abit nf-m2s (bought at thundermatch at RM165.
with the lack of setting in bios (vcore, vmem, ram timing) which is so important in overclocking, i can push this brisby to 281x9.5 = 2669MHz with prime stable. but the screenie was delete.
i havent try more coz no time to prime. boot perfectly when 285x9.5 (2707MHz) but lazy to prime.
try 290x9.5 but cannot reboot. i think its because of ram timing. even i lowered the divider (like using ddr 533, timing 4-4-4-12), i cant set the timing makes it reach the limit

anyway, i recognized sumthing weird. my 3800+ windsor paired with abit kn9s, before this, running 250x10 (2500MHz), using for 24/7. but now, if i underclocked to default, 200x10, my system cannot reboot. my mobo is a bit faulty i think? 

already pushed to 2.45Ghz.higher than that not stable. limited by my Vdimm..
i think will stop here for a while. this speed should be enough for my 24/7 usage...later if my hand starting itchy again, will get better mobo and also brisby..

m2ne max vdimm 1.95v as u know.. lol..

i think my brisbane load around 47C.. that's reading when i'm using lcd temp measure.. maybe not accurate.. coz just place the sensor on the heatsink but near to the core..

its got its own 256 memory wert. lol. nvm la

can gigabyte 690v mobo use for overclock? installed the easy tune 5 but cannot use the  cpu overclock function.

Overclock through BIOS.
Do not expect too high for Gigabyte board.
Remember to press CTRL + F1 combination to enable hidden setting.

WOW!!! Really really low voltages!!! Can definitely go to 3ghz I think . Mine at 2.8ghz needs 1.4v to be stable  Using the same board and so far I've pushed it to 2.96ghz.......after that gerenti BSOD while windows is loading. Is the proc at its max ady or is it my windows problem. I've tried this with basiclly all possible settings and voltages.

Ryudox, ur proc should be able to oc higher. brisbane can be oc 2.8-3.0 easily.try to change ur HT multiplier to 3 and and change ur ram timings...dont forgot to increase ur Vdimm and Vcore...

hi overclocking sifu's I just got my AM2 rig and 1st attempt to overclock.  Is my bios settings o.k?

Prime95 = so far tested 6 hours o.k.

don't mislooked the trfc guys.. loose them..
if u guys still can't get 3ghz.. don't worry.. new proc normaly like that.. after sometime in oc mode.. u can push even higher.. some cpu can't even push higher if just came out from the box.. u need to warm them up first... stress the proc should help...

if u afraid don't try.. sure u'll miss the fun..

do I need to install the dual-core optimizer?

not only dual core optimizer, but some updates for XP as well. XP isnt build to optimize multi core processors. I forgot which update was it, do a little google im sure you would get lots of results.

Also, this is for XP only, Vista has support for multi core procs natively.

how unlucky i'm. just upgrade my os to vista ultimate yesterday. the setting to oc my proc seems unstable after using this vista. my recent setting (240 x 10, divider proc/8, HT multiplier=4). now only manage to oc (230 x 10, divider proc/6, HT multiplier=5). however,this brings quite significant improvement to HTT and clock Ram...

i tried to oc my friends pc which using vista, everythings running smooth. only mine got prob. maybe caused by bios or instability of chipset driver??coz my chipset driver for winXp is the latest, this one for vista i just download from website...

Hello everybody. Need helps here, My PC processor is AMD 64 X2 dual core, but then i check the CPU history at the task manager, it has only one graph. And cannot change the view into 2 graph per CPU. How come? Thanks
