Explain clearly. What error it bring you?
Do u update bios before? Success?
Way of update: It depends. Can be updated through Floopy or in Windows using software.

I think you have to try flash using Windsy F2 processor.
Should be able to boot w Windsy F2. After flashed, then change back your Windsy F3. icon_rolleyes.gif

Your HTT is on the high side.

you mean my HT link very high issit?
Well, 1100 actually is still under safe range
check this out, my screenshot for an integrated gc oc competition
1300 HT link. Too bad, my mobo chipset not a 'good stepping' 1 laugh.gif
cannot OC any higher anymore.
Lose to another guy that oc his HT link to 1500 and end up with 1st runner up cry.gif

that is normal if ur cpuid recognise ur proc as 5600+ as its actually depends on the speed clock. but if u look at the overclock tab inside ur everest, CPUid recognize as 5200+

Ya. Try to borrow one Windsy F2 processor solely for the flashing procedure.
Then, plug back your Windsy F3.
Before that, there is one fellow remind me to flash the bios when I am still using Windsy. That time i changing to Brisby.
I think it is the same since Windsy F3 is newer compare to Brisby G1.

every mobo chipset has its own limit, like ur cpu. When reach the limit already, you cannot go further anymore. It's like cpu 'stepping', different 'stepping' different OC ability, same thing applies here. AFAIK, Biostar TA690G's HT link is highly overclockable, minimum can hit 1500 HT link. After overclock ur HT link to 1500 , GPU to 600, CPU and also your ram, You will gain graphic performance that almost same with a 7300GT smile.gif

The higher the HT link, better the integrated gc performance. That's one of the reason people oc their HT link smile.gif

and please, no silly thing such as your whole pc will crash after oc your HT link or your pc will explode like a nuclear bomb after oc the HT link. If you oc over the limit adi , your pc will become unstable / restart again and again . It's just like the way how you overclock ur cpu, same thing applies here.

it is possible PSU limit the oc when u keep push the vcore.. and orthos and always fail.. FYI, the ram is set to 400 and just set to 2.0v... and speed of ram 262mhz only..look at my sigs, using 550w.. waa.. x cukup ker?? cry.gif

just testing oc brisby 4000+.. my fwen punyer..hahha

just check your Voltage and make sure everything all voltage reading is good, then it should be alright. If its your PSU, the voltage should flunctuate alot and most of the time below the specified voltage.

So sad, my 4000+ brisby already hit its limit. Cant go any higher with my current board, max OC 3.3Ghz @ 1.55vcore, bootable with lots of distortion. 3.2Ghz 1M superPI-able, and 12hours orthos stable at 3.0Ghz @ 501Mhz 4-4-4-7-11-2T @2.3vdimm.

Im sure that my ram isnt holding me back though, nothing else i could do =( 1.55vcore is the highest my board can go. Any suggestion for further overclocking?

due to limited vcore.. u should change ur mobo, consider also if u have good cooling n proc didnt hit the wall

using Xigmatek HDT-S1283. On 3.2Ghz 1.55vcore my load temp average around 55c, i cant test it for long as the system hangs after 15-30minutes due to 3.2Ghz instability. Which on the other hand, with my current stable speed(3.0ghz @ 1.50vcore, orthos 12 hours straight, its still maintaning 40-45c.

It could have been better though.. im on a crossfire setup so airflow isnt perfect on my case, plus, the crucial rams runs pretty hot.

Quite agreed with taiko word here..
Ive posted a link back then to Nvidia guide to overclock their nf590 mobo.I use it to do on my nf570 ultra.
They recommend to clock HT more..to boost overall system performance.
I did mine and manage to do 1250mhz only if im not mistake..there is a boost of performance overall.
But my chipset heatsink is very hot..I ended up have to retrofit a small fan on top of it.
Even with that also can feel it warm..hehehe nevertheless a good heatpipe heatsink from Abit considering how less heatsink surface area for the chipset heatsink.

seriously a good reading from the man itself..... biggrin.gif

some tips i got from there.

1)use highest multiplier available.
2)use higher memory speed not lower latency
3)Higher Ht link speed
4)doesnt matter high HTT freq

thats about it.... biggrin.gif

last time i even tried benchmarking between higher HT link (1300mhz) and lower one (960Mhz). seems like the one with lower HT link got better score compared to the other one..... sweat.gif
