Yes seating position is the most important thing to check before going out. It helps in a real life and simulation world. Do some search around how race drivers seat in real life.
Of course with my current seat cant really match the buckets. Do it right and you'll be able to 'feel' the whole car and make consistent lap time. If your hands are too far away from the wheel you might not be able regain back your unsettle car on time. Cross arm technique plays a big role too.
