Is now a good time to e-mail ASNB, to request for 2019 calendar? Or, should I wait till early December 2018?

Usually, every year ASNB will automatically send calendar to selected ASNB investors, mostly likely those high-net-worth ASNB investors. Average Joes like me will be forgotten by ASNB. tongue.gif

I do not want to wait too late, till ASNB runs out of calendar. smile.gif

wait for December first leh

Alright, nexona88. I shall heed your advice, and wait till early December to request for 2019 calendar. smile.gif

For this year calendar (year 2018), I waited too late until I forgot about it. I only requested for the calendar in January this year, and luckily ASNB still has some calendars left. smile.gif

So, it is best to request earlier from ASNB in December 2018, to prevent the ready stock of ASNB calendar being finished.

huh send by postman???
I thought already stopped sending starting this year April ASM  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Yeah, I share your viewpoint. The annual statement for ASNB FPs are sent to us via e-mail. What DBHILUHDAQWISRTNJ meant is probably the booklet of the annual financial report of ASM2 - Wawasan, showing the number of unitholders, shares bought and sell by ASM2 - Wawasan, the accounts, and etc.

Then again, PNB can just send the PDF of annual financial report to us via e-mail, so that the cost of sending annual financial report via post can be reduced. We really need ASNB to be more efficient in their operation and reduces such cost, so that they do not have reasons to reduce our FP dividends.

What are the conditions to get the PNB sling bag? Need to open a MyASNB account, at the booth in NU Sentral?

So, are the existing MyASNB members excluded from getting the PNB sling bag?

Hi,

Want to ask those who had performed "transfer units' before..
Let say if I want to transfer my units to my friend, will I will get the money (for units transferred) from ASNB and my friend then pay the money to ASNB?
Or my friend has to settle the payment with me directly, and at ASNB level, it is only change of name of those units with no payment involved (except the RM15 service charge).

Thanks
*
This friend must be a very good friend to you, and you trust each other. Maybe, after the transfer procedure in ASNB office is completed, your friend can just use internet banking to perform instant fund transfer of the money to your account. A win-win solution to you and your friend. rclxms.gif Your friend do not have to struggle typing capchas, to accumulate units in ASNB FP.

I would not transfer my ASNB FP unit to any unknown person, not even my friend. Sorry for being mean, because this world is realistic and materialistic. We need to protect ourselves, from being too naïve. smile.gif

Suppose that a person has completed the transfer procedure of his ASNB FP units in ASNB office, to his friend. After that, his friend broke the verbal promise between the two of them, and refused to perform instant fund transfer of the money to the banking account of the first person. His friend claimed that the ASNB FP units was his own now, and there was nothing wrong legally about that. The first person was on the losing side. sad.gif

The first person cannot report this matter to ASNB, and ASNB is unable to do anything. After all, the first person has consented to ASNB under his own free will, to transfer his ASNB FP units to his friend. Whatever happens next is not under the jurisdiction of ASNB.

This is not some real story, and it is just my imagination. Hopefully, no offense is intended here. smile.gif

Uncle defination of "less" is different from the ordinary ppl. For him maybe 4 figure is less tongue.gif

I agree with you, saitong09. smile.gif

When we average Joes invest RM 1000 in ASNB, RM 1000 is just like 1 cent to Uncle.

DBHILUHDAQWISRTNJ is a ultra high net worth individual, and is in the same highly elite group with guy3288, OPT, bbgoat, cklimm and so on.

They may well be substantial shareholders of ASM, ASM2 and ASM3 (with 10% of total units or more), to the extent that PNB may have to offer them a seat in the board of directors for ASM, ASM2 and ASM3.

Just joking, ok. tongue.gif No offense intended.

DBHILUHDAQWISRTNJ and other ultra high net worth individuals are our role model we should emulate, so that we should have more savings in ASNB FP. notworthy.gif rclxms.gif

So, ASM mega sale was held from around 11 am to 1 pm yesterday. That was not even 1 whole day. bangwall.gif

It is unfair. sad.gif But, what can I do?

I missed the boat yesterday. So, I need to check this ASNB thread, every second, every day, to get any news of possible ASM mega sale. Sigh.

There is no substitute for hard work, and I have to deal with it.

ASNB, please give us another day of ASM mega sale. Please do not make us wait till ASM dividend date on 1st April 2019, for us to perform top-up to ASM. Thank you.

Good point, lucifah. thumbup.gif Yeah, next time when I notice that the page number of this ASNB thread dramatically increases within a short span of time, it looks like ASM mega sale is ongoing. Then again, it happens once in a blue moon, other than on ASM dividend date. sad.gif

Thank you for sharing the information on bumi version of ASNB, such as ASB, ASB2 and ASB3-Didik. Although we non-bumi are not allowed to invest in bumi ASNB FPs, there is no harm having more knowledge on bumi ASNB FPs. notworthy.gif smile.gif

For those who are unaware of this article:

An article on the history of PNB, which is published in The Star newspaper.

It is a good read for us ASNB investors over the weekend, as we ponder over the distribution percentage of our ASNB Fixed Price Funds next year. smile.gif

paying dividend from other than profit, is sign of shinking ship...u must get your safety jacket on...

By getting safety jacket on, we will know that it is the time to jump ship, aka sell our units in ASNB FP and move to other investments. We are keeping our fingers crossed, that such worst case scenario will not happen.

Yeah, we agree that PNB management is more prudent and professional. As long as the ASNB FP dividends are sustainable and are from actual profit (not from "creative accounting" and "fancy financial numbers"), we have no problem with it.

Any non-bumi will be disappointed if ASNB FP dividends may be below 6 %. However, if lowering dividends will keep the ASNB FP dividends sustainable in the long run (considering the challenging economic climate now), we non-bumi should still be grateful with we can realistically get from ASNB.

nexona88
At early January 2018 next year, many bumis who have no intention to withdraw the dividend can just use MyASNB to check the dividend for ASB in their home, thus somewhat lessens the crowd in PNB and agent banks.

Then again, since online withdrawal function is still absent in MyASNB, other bumis still need to go to PNB and agent banks, to withdraw the dividend for ASB. At least, with the existence of MyASNB, the crowd in PNB and agent banks will not as congested as in previous years.

Please inform us, if you have any insider information about when ASM will be reopened for top-up.

The only certainty is that we can start to top-up on 1 April 2019, which is the after the dividend announcement of ASM. If that happens, we can only obtain the dividend for this top-up, another year later, on 1 April 2020.

So, we hope that we can top-up ASM, on a date much earlier than 1 April 2019. At least, we can still get pro-rated dividend on 1 April 2019.

hyelbaine
Another thing is that about possible "closure" of ASM. Many of us agree that veera77's opinion is the most plausible explanation.

Can you confirm with your insider that veera77's opinion is correct?

QUOTE(veera77 @ Dec 25 2018, 01:23 AM)
My assumption is ASNB buying from whoever selling ASM1 over-the-counter, but refuse to sell back the same to others...
By doing this ASNB could reduce number of ASM1 unit in  circulation..indirectly creating buffer/space to fill the dividend re-investment units on 1 April 2019...

This only my crazy theory... i might be competely wrong bro...

Thank you for your help. notworthy.gif thumbup.gif It is not really an urgent matter, so please take your own time. Nevertheless, your insider information will provide much-needed assurance to us, on the current status of ASM.

What I am aware of is ASM is not suspended per say but there is really so little people selling it as compared to the other fp funds. It WAS "suspended" for the bank campaign previously but it's back to normal now from what my insider has told me.

Your rumors about ASM fund being closed is totally and absolutely wrong. The fund does not have any maturity date that expires. You all have probably read the prospectus more than most of PNB's own staff so you know that there's no such thing.

If I were any of you, I'd be more worried about SC not allowing anymore growth in size for dividend (meaning dividend would be in cash rather than units) than worrying about fund being closed and what not.

But if you're so worried than no one is stopping you from selling your units (especially ASM) because from the looks of things, it's the most wanted fund as compared to ASM2 and ASM3 which I have no idea why also  rclxub.gif  lol
*
Thank you very much for sharing the information from your insider friend. notworthy.gif

I believe that most of us in this thread have faith in ASM, and will not sell the units. We need the assurance instead, on when we can perform additional top-up into ASM, way earlier than 1 April 2019. Thus, we can get some pro-rated dividend on 1 April 2019.

We are assuming that ASM is suspended by PNB, since PNB wants to reduce the number of units owned by ASM investors to be below 94%. Then, upon dividend distribution, the number of units plus the dividend will not exceed 100%, as to maintain the existing fund size. Again, this is not a rumour. Instead, this is our unverified speculation and assumption, just to justify that we are unable to invest into ASM.

It is reasonable to assume that the ASNB thread readers in Lowyat forum is just a very small subset of entire ASM investors. Then again, as your insider said that: "it's back to normal", how come not even one of us here reported that he or she managed to invest mere RM 100 into ASM?

Again, we still believe what your insider friend said. It is just that the complete absence of successful top-up of even RM 100 into ASM has cast doubt on when we can really perform additional top-up into ASM, way earlier than 1 April 2019. Other than that, we still have faith in investing in ASM, ASM 2 and ASM 3.

No offense intended, hyelbaine. We very much appreciate the insider information that you can give to us here. notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

ASM 1 is available now for top-up!

Too bad, I can only top-up RM 200 into ASM 1, as I have no more eFD, and the rest of my money is locked up in my money market fund.

My pocket is not as deep, as the pocket of guy3288, OPT, bbgoat, cklimm, DBHILUHDAQWISRTNJ and so on.

Thanks to all who appreciate my information on ASM 1 availability. thumbup.gif

As we happily top up ASM 1, let's extend our gratitude to hyelbaine as well, for sharing the insider information. Remember to thank hyelbaine, whenever hyelbaine is active in this thread.

It is good that ASNB allows us to top-up ASM 1. Does that mean that ASM 1 fund manager will be on a buying spree in Bursa Malaysia this Tuesday? brows.gif brows.gif

Really? DBHILUHDAQWISRTNJ, OPT? brows.gif brows.gif

Just take the stash of RM xxxxx hidden under your pillow, and another RM xxxx cash placed in some books, deposit them in any local bank and top-up ASM 1. If HNWIs like you can dry up, anchovies, average Joes and Janes like us will dry up faster.

Just joking. No offense intended. tongue.gif

You can input any number higher than RM 99.99, such as RM 100.00, RM 100.01, RM 100.02, ....., RM 29999.99, till RM 30000.00.

Whether you can get to top-up the amount you choose is subject to unit availability. smile.gif

thank you...as a way of thanks, i will pay it forward by offering a DIY method to hoot SP500 at the lowest cost possible route. I will hand carry comrades to own their first low-cost index fund (note: not stashaway).

Can you post your DIY method to invest in SP500, in other thread?

Yeah, we will keep investing in ASNB, as this is a relatively-low-risk investment. But, some of us may be keen to withstand higher risk to invest in SP500, in order to get higher return.

Thank you.
