I’ve been trying for ASM1 and Wawasan2020 without any luck by using the online myASNB. ASM3 seems to be relatively easy to get units in. I tried visiting a bank branch but got similar treatment as the Money’s (https://mrandmrsmoney.wordpress.com/2018/11/20/the-trust-deficit-in-the-financial-sector-our-first-hand-experience/)
Appreciate any tips in getting these unit! |

QUOTE(beLIEve @ May 4 2019, 07:26 AM) Have you read post #1? I don't know why you need to follow Mr and Mrs money footsteps unless you have 10k to buy every day. I read the #1 but was a bit surprised that the banks were so pushy on variable funds. The returns are quite bad too.Banks need to make more profit in order to give higher dividend to ASN, in turn a higher dividend to you. Do banks pay dividend to ASN? I always thought agents received commission for reselling the variable funds. Maybank is the only bank with connection to PNB. Going to try for some ASM and Wawasan2020 units this week. Finger crossed! |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ May 5 2019, 12:14 PM) I was referring to a risk article I read on a Malaysian blog - https://mrandmrsmoney.wordpress.com/2019/04...why-it-matters/. FD is guaranteed by government for up 250k and there are offers up to 5% for new money. ASx needs to return more than 1% more to justify the additional risk - otherwise EPF is also better returns for long term.No luck with new AS units today |

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ May 5 2019, 05:13 PM) Hahaha, cannot stop myself from jumping in. Auntie with family shopping Queensbay Mall, cats at the groomers. Unker gave up on fishing today. Finished all the e-papers n alt media. My concerns is if ASxs fixed funds dividend is not sustainable. The 5 year trend is definitely not going the right way - with 5.5% for ASM recently. The risk with EPF is lower and returns higher. If the investment is meant to be long term, and ASx does not improve, EPF is a better choice. I am still trying for more ASx units but hope to also see some improvements in dividends. Are you having some internal conflict where to invest your $. I thot its very difficult n waiting time to be included into this forum. Even more difficult for the non-bumi to invest into ASX. Despite any doubts or what we think, the fact is $10Billion??? or so, non-bumi allocation (3 funds) already subscribed. Risk, is valid. If PNB closes shop due to a repeat of 1mdb magnitude of mismanagement, not many places in Malaysia we can hide n RM$ will be as good as Zimbabwe or Venezuela $. You undecided among the 3 ASX funds vs FD vs EPF vs Shares? Need to consider your age group, what's your vision n goal, Investment timeline, etc. Cimb giving 5%, but only 3 months.. Lepas itu, you go hunting for next Bank promotion. OPR likely down this month, FD will follow. Let the Elders understand what question or concerns you really have. They will share inputs n you have final decision. Also, are u read from other bloggers, to have a wider perspective on important subject of $$$. Which other bloggers you following? Allow me to assess.... |

QUOTE(cscheat @ May 11 2019, 12:31 AM) https://mrandmrsmoney.wordpress.com/2019/05...ur-investments/I was reading this earlier today and it looks quite positive for ASM with a lowered rate. ASM holds mostly equity and bonds which should increase in value. Maybe Maybank will be pressured by lower mortgage margins but equities in general should be positive. |

MyASNB is open for transactions on Sundays.
Has anyone been lucky then or is it better to focus on captcha on weekdays? |

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ May 12 2019, 11:52 AM) Good morning! You have chosen a noble name, Agree, also increasing taxes. Cost is going up fast. I have not found any blog that covers the tips for ASNB as well as this forum. Equatorian =Gift of God. I spent time visiting the Mr. n Mrs. Money blog. Can see why you are drawn to their writeup. Lots of positive stuffs, strong aspirations, travels, likely identifiable with your age group n common interests, idealism. Areas on investments are a tad too general, they are a great lifestyle blog but hardly passable as an investment/personal finances blog. Also, with our inflation %, kids' education, no social security, no free health benefits, don't bother to try FIRE, unless you have 30x-50x annual expenses in your bank....you ard mid - late 30s? What's possible in advanced countries, might not be applicable at home. Continue to read extensively, keep this blog but at same time explore n expand your search for 'mentors',... Happy Sunday. Now, thinking hard... Change name Unkerpanjang. Really no sense nor class. Do you have any recommendation? Btw, I have never got more than 2krm in ASM1 and few hundreds in ASM2 in one go. What amount do you advice to try for these with success? |

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ May 16 2019, 07:24 AM) Morning all, Unker gonna enjoy watching John Wick 3 today, then eagerly resume back to work tomorrow. Some thoughts. Great motivation! Enjoy the movie, on my to do list also.Blessed are the star studded Elders who selflessly share their knowledge in this forum. Fortunate are the you n I, who discovered n benefited from this sharing. We gotta to pay it forward by helping others. Can be as simple as a motivational msg or as detailed as the wasiat application process. Yet, there are others, both professionals n others who haven't maximized their investments, may it be asnb, insurance, etc. Compounding time n $ is your greatest friend. Don't lose out this opportunity. (till today, Unker still paying monthly $90, for a life insurance when I started work with $1.2k salary, just realized its worth $48k today), its a tidy sum. To the laggards in this forum, we continue rooting for you to land your 1st catch, can be $100 or more, we don't discriminate. We just want you to share your success story n motivate others. Managed to get 1k ASM today |
