EPF and other funds to pay less dividends, Najib predicts
Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak predicts that state funds like the Amanah Saham (ASB), Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Armed Forces Fund (LTAT), and Tabung Haji will be paying far less in dividends this year. This is due to the loss of investor confidence in Malaysia following the 14th general election, which in turn caused foreign investment inflows in the stock market earlier this year to turn into outflows. In a Facebook post today, he said the price of the unit trust managed both by private financial institutions and the government had fallen anywhere between five to 25 percent compared to the beginning of the year. “This is a sign that ASB, EPF, LTAT, and Tabung Haji dividends for this year may be far lower compared to last year. https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/452607 |

QUOTE(wonglaychan @ Jan 30 2019, 05:26 PM) I put 6K end of last year during a SSPN roadshow at 1U for income tax rebate and free gift: hamper (Biscuit & soft drink around RM50), SSPN's umbrella, SSPN's school bag, IQ toys for child, color pencil... etc. I think these free gifts are more than RM30 which is 0.5% from 6K, right? How good if this 0.5% Ganjaran Kesetiaan apply to our ASx if without the tax deduction benefits....2% over the 4% will be a lot in the long terms |

QUOTE(yklooi @ Mar 29 2019, 10:18 AM) if the PNB is that "pure", why does it needs to change? why now after the recent change of Govt? could it be "shit" had been found and in order not the spooks the mkts.... change without announcing the "trouble" inside? why no more fully support local mkts & needs to venture into foreign soils? too much murky water locally to justify to stay off for a while? just a thought....off topic thou. |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Mar 29 2019, 10:44 AM) Friend of mind gave some info.. Chairman Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz said the markets that PNB was looking at include the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France and Germany. The emerging economies will mainly be from both Asia and Europe.(Don't know it's true or just rumors).. PNB funds would invest in global funds managed by 6 different international fund managers.... These fund have investment in developed countries market exposure like US, UK, Australia, Japan, France & Germany.. QUOTE(hyelbaine @ Mar 29 2019, 10:41 AM) u all should understand type of person zeti is. she is a very risk-averse person and she is oso fiercely independent. u think if wahid was still leading and bn was still govt, pnb wont kena pau to give ASM higher then 5.5 and risk the future? not no longer support but need to go outside to get the returns. same like epf, when youre so big and you need to get returns but local market too small/cannot provide return, need to look elsewhere. you look at the size of epf and pnb you think they can get the return from klci that has been poor for the past 5 years if they only invest locally? even with the full support PNB and EPF...."klci that has been poor for the past 5 years" |
