QUOTE(veera77 @ Nov 5 2018, 04:39 PM) yes B40 usually struggle to meet their basic needs...formal investment very far from their sight...for B40, the most important thing they looking for from govt is not cash money but their kids tertiary education...so that the next generation of B40 could upgrade themself to M40 at least.. tertiary education should be free for all qualified B40 kids ! thats is should be the real capital investment by govt on Malaysian B40 group only has RM100-200 left every month... if not that they don't want to save, it's they got nothing left to save.

Guys, do you notice your Maybank is automatically linked with ASNB ?
I have never registered Maybank2u for ASNB, but somehow when I checked under "wealth" section in Maybank2u, it shows all my ASNB accounts with its correct amount.

QUOTE(vanitas @ Jan 9 2019, 04:05 PM) 300k p.a. not enough.. wow.. Uncle need travel with private jet every week, then rich as MJ also not enough.. hmm.. Edit: But anyway, different people got different financial goals, I would retired with 5m, some people work till dead even got way more than 5m, so I got no comments or objection on uncle's goal. Some banker told me , 5 Million cash is the number to aim for retirement. But some people also told me, the things money can do for you get less when you got older. 5 million for a 40 year old, and 5 million for 60 year old - different. QUOTE(kovin @ Jan 9 2019, 04:25 PM) 2m already want to retired already, life is too short not to enjoy 2 million in ASx with 6% return is about RM10,000 a month. Assuming one has cleared all his outstanding loans, RM10000 a month is luxury life. Eat buffet dinner at RM100 per night also can't finish it. every 2-3 months can go holiday. My personal view on this - at least the dividends reflect the state of economy in the country. Some people who are jelly of PNB higher dividends payout in the past have been accusing it to be a Ponzi Scheme. With this, it shows PNB to be transparent and solid institution.
- it is still higher than FD (at the most 4.5%) and interest rate is set to come down next year.
- Inflation rate in country of 1-2%, as compared to 3-4% in previous years, we still have a higher net gain, no?>

QUOTE(vanitas @ Mar 28 2019, 11:48 AM) Well, most people wouldn't think and reasoning so much, but just compare with past years, and EPF, also bank loan rate for asb2 (for bumi), to judge is it good dividend. yea, we can have payout of 7% , but inflation of 3-4% and ringgit depreciating 5% every year... it's meaningless. I would rather we have low inflation, stable ringgit and lower dividend payout from EPF / PNB. There is one good thing I can tell , as a commoner , I do see prices of goods have "stopped" rising. The GST era actually see my favourite imported Pringles spiked from RM5.50 to RM11.00. But they seem to drop to RM9.00 in some supermarket these days. QUOTE(beLIEve @ Mar 28 2019, 12:09 PM) Haha. Yes, agreed. I knew this would happen. Even if privatize the tolls, it'll be our money. In this case, those who don't pay toll also indirectly pay for them. Beneficial to those who use a lot. I prefer to get higher dividend. Inflation or not, if the next govt who takes over takes action to make Barang Naik, inflation will go up again. Money, best made as much as possible and the earliest possible. Why your pringles so expensive? You live in East 1Malaysia? Wahhhh the superhigh ASB2 also 6% only. Apa lagi pelabur bijak mau? You have your point too. For those with lots of cash who put in ASX products since 1990s, should have their wealth tripled by now. (provided still alive ) This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Mar 28 2019, 12:19 PM

QUOTE(vanitas @ Mar 28 2019, 12:19 PM) To add on, even Malaysia inflation 0%, imported stuff like iPhone will only getting more expensive. That is because Apple keeps increasing the price of their products across the board.
