Interesting Sunday.
I think some people will be disciplined to separate their
Investment Fund vs Emergency Fund vs Monthly Expenses vs Speculative Fund. While others don't think there's any diff.
Will be too trouble to align, if we r at different freq. Hahaha. FD is a good place to park $.
*
IMO there are no right or wrong way to manage their $.
To me, FD is good for short to mid term investment.
ASX great for long term investment.
For even longer term? EPF. rclxms.gif

Some risk taker can go for stock market. Each ppl have their own taste.

Errr Xeon, you must still be young n pure at heart....

After married, all the $$$$ belongs to Auntie. Unker just talk big in forum, take daily allowance only.

Shhhh, don't laugh too loud, in case Auntie finds out.
*
Unker, although now still being single, to be honest I have no idea how financial management would be after marriage.
I do understand the need of common tabung for house usage, but introducing another contributor/commitment doesn't sounds good to already-dried-out-wallet.
What I can do now is just save and save up to safe level amount of $$, and pray no further commitment.

Xeon,
Pretty well thought responses, well done.... If both parties are working, then split the income fairly (both in agreement) into shared 3 accounts = household vs him vs her accounts.

You struck the right cord abt being independent n self learning.

Bravo! Lastly, don't just save, save, save... Wor, if like a Korea or Osaka trip, just redeem some $ n go... Experience is more important than things.
*
Unfortunately not all can afford Osaka trip, cuti cuti Malaysia is the way to go. icon_idea.gif

Seems like a difficult task to be achieve haha. Guess only option left was sit at the respective bank or agent wait to open acc? That's what I am aware of in opening the account. Thanks for the input mate

if you couldn't convince them to open a fixed price fund account for you, sitting there longer won't make them pity you and open for you. Option left is goto PNB or try other banks.

You are welcome
*
Based on my experience, among all bank still the PNB attend my request promptly and fast.
If it's not far from your place, highly recommend you try there.
But not on beginning of the month of course.
Best is end of month.

Alright. Gotta try my luck with PNB then. Timing just good as we are in end of the month haha. Thanks for the input!
*
But there is a catch - although end of month not much ppl, that also mean harder to get unit too.
So you might getting hard time even to buy RM10 of FP. Can buy other fund first just to open account.

I;ll try smaller amount like 100 each time, instead of  RM1000 .

No wonder.
Normally I try with 200-500, nowadays 1K almost impossible to get.

Note that "You are our priority" wording.
That means EPF favor rich ppl instead of treat everyone the same. devil.gif

In my opinion, no matter how much fund in the pool, it will be sapu by big shark.
Maybe should diversify investment scheme instead of increasing size of single pool.
