QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ May 13 2019, 07:33 AM) Morning. The Sifu Specialists seem to be on PTO. "Let's make it all for one and all for love.Unker reply will be a cryptic one. The obvious reason why you considering applying for the trust n answer to your question, embedded in Bryan Adams - All for love lyrics, line#15-18. Let the one you hold be the one you want, the one you need, 'cause when it's all for one it's one for all." |

Saw this in TheStar
EPF a safer investment LETTERS Wednesday, 19 Jun 2019 IN the late 1990s and early 2000s, mutual fund companies used to declare dividends in double digits. But in the past 10 years, these have dwindled to single digit. I invested in one growth fund in 1994 at the price of RM1.24 and today it is only in the region of RM0.40 to 0.45sen. This is a drop of more than 60% from the day I started the investment. Dividends are being declared in paltry sums for most of the funds just to keep investors happy and to maintain them in order to retain the 1.5% management fee. Is Bank Negara aware of this? Five years after investing my EPF money into mutual funds, the return is in the negative region. I would have earned at least 6% in dividends if l had kept my money in EPF. QUOTE(beLIEve @ Jun 19 2019, 10:48 AM) someone I know who used to work in bank 1negara as some higher ranking officer used to say - never withdraw your 1money from EPF unless really cannot source elsewhere. Dividend is much higher than alternatives. So I think buy house is ok, trust fund never ok. ASMx is the only trust fund I ever bought. I had to withdraw EPF to fund my tertiary education. Did some home tuition to support my living expenses but not enough to cover the tuition fees. After graduate, I did not topup back the amount i withdraw from EPF. After reading this post, maybe I should..Was thinking of putting in monthly in ratio of 50% ASM and 50% EPF. But the downside of EPF is the money will be stuck and unable to withdraw in case of emergency. |

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Jun 19 2019, 12:09 PM) Unker Read already, very inspired!!!! Thank you Unker for the kind words.. I hope to follow Unker's footsteps to be financially successful Just make little changes, n do it once you are ready. Don't stress yourself. Everyone is slightly different, some needs big push, drag them along, some little whisper, some die-die won't follow, some run by themselves, etc. People with your history n thought process, already shows your financial compass is set correctly. Now back to spamming captch |
