QUOTE(pikeydude @ Jun 9 2019, 02:13 PM) Talking about Public Mutual, seems like there is no more active tread about it in lowyat forum. I have some cash investment in PB but heard the % earning is not very much. high SC, tons of non performing funds. Thinking of withdrawing them. keep open new fund. And many others are providing the same region same type of fund at low SC, I don't know why people will still choose PB. With SC of 5.5%, you need the fund to perf like a star to break even at year 1. with market sentiments right now, its very hard to accomplish that. Definitely head of family, household with 4-5 pax. Hmmm, landed property. Exposure to financial knowledge, thinks Asnb is too slow to make money. Asnb to Unker more of a distraction. Unker playing investment with Average to Higher Risks. (Asnb is low risks). Hmm, into football and mid-tier cars, with wide range of contacts. Comparatively, Unker an extrovert n social animal - active posts thru out the day. Likely already retired or boss allows Unker freedom with own time. Your preference for Nokia kinda show hand your age. Me cannot pass-up Unker's request to profile. If I offended Unker, pls forgive me. Respectfully thanks Unker for being anchor contributor in this forum. Partly correct with football and car... How you know that I am still young la... I like Nokia because nostalgia and the phone they make are long lasting. Till now I still using their 1st Android phone. Posting in forum... Shouldn't be introvert? But.... ASNB still my main horse. QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Jun 10 2019, 11:30 AM) Morning Elder, Nice share. My view Specifically on Penang, as I'm still active in the mfg circle. Manufacturing among the niche EE is maxed out. MNCs are still awaiting 2 more weeks decision on US, China trade. Most low end going to Vietnam, China border where they can act as release first, declare later status. Otherwise, its looking like Taiwan, Thailand n Penang are main beneficiaries. I know of 3PL actively scouting for tens of K sqft warehouses in Northern mainland. The durian Orchard land near Sg Batu main road, etc is approx $70-100/sqft while those near the designated Mara college Balik Pulau, agricultural land is still ard $40/sqft. Penang State Govt needs to decide on southern island reclamation, its a decision to weigh btw setting up next gen semicon resurgence vs livelihood of 2k fisherman. Geopolticals wise, all the prophet of doom has been wrong for last 9 years. Corrections are normal cycles in stock trading. US stocks will continue to be invincible as long as Congress doesn't ban Company Stock Buyback. China will need couple of years to workaround all the US chip supply, FB, Google n other US Apps. Nowadays, I only follow Jim Rickards Blog n Ted Bauman articles....Good video sharing by Col Lawrence Wilkerson, James Bradley for Iran, US n understand China, USA history. If u worry about geopolitical conflict or not, watch shares of Lockheed Martin. I spiked during the last Iraq War,...its trending up last 6 months. Hence, my reservations to immediately jump into stocks. I hold substantial Singtel & Genting Sgp shares for dividends n speculative buy respectively, also currency hedging. Eagerly watching Ocbc, Amazon, Alibaba. I love Asnb, but think KLSE is rigged, held up by Kwsp, KWAP, PNB, (just repeating what you, Sis Nexona, Elder Believe,...) shared. My 2 cents. Or, this was your clever trick to distract me from spamming. Unker write nonsense. Meaning now all rally of the world market is just hoax? Technically dead cat bounce? And local main board tech sector will break down in no time? VIX is low now This post has been edited by [Ancient]-XinG-: Jun 10 2019, 11:43 AM |

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Jun 11 2019, 10:12 AM) Hello Mummy, Daddy Paogeh, Really, really in my mind... As another parent. Is to buy a medical insurance for your child/children. I know when people younger, all feels indestructible as Superman. At young age, child premium very low. Also got savings one. Touchwood, etc and you think company coverage etc. But fact is, Unker also from top USA MNCs in the past,... Such benefits will slowly deplete. If got spare cash, this is another alt investment. Disclosure : Unker not promoting for insurance company, ok... Nanti kena yellow card pula. QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Jun 11 2019, 10:14 AM) hard to say though, my parents bought for me last time, coverage only 100k. fast forward 20 years, what is 100k? had a mixed feeling for this too. mine 35k no rider as my parents cant afford. only edu fund. turn out when I am 23, cash out is exactly the same as how much they put in.... what a rubbish policy.... pity my parent trsut the wrong people and no financial ideas. Imagine 35k back then is so big. even put into FD is better! But now the policy changed a lot compared to las time, still worthwhile to take it up if they have maturity benefit and rider at no extra cost. |

QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Jun 13 2019, 01:45 PM) Only country seeing improving middle class n wealthy class is China,... likely, Vietnam. It's a sad sad situation in MY now from being a highly potential country to nearly bankrupt country. One obvious reason, Manufacturing moved to China. Only Manufacturing (before Robots & AI), you need VP, Director, Snr Mgr, Mgr, Sec Mgr,..... Operator. While Service Industry is very lean n mean. That's why TunM wants another national car, being an OEM, JDM will allow better Profit Before Tax... Can feed more people. That's why in Malaysia, if you work as Logistics, Service Industry, your Ops margin is all single digit %. A good OEM margin can be 40-50%. Someone mentioned 2 days ago, why the FAANG companies don't invest in Malaysia.... Hahaha, we don't have the available land, people, education, supporting technology n most important attitude. Mfg contributes to approx 30-40% of country's growth. Malaysia will have chance with a China +1 strategy, if the big bosses wish to hedge their mfg... In view of long term China vs USA trade war. Trump can get impeached, but not remove as the House is Republican controlled. Why risk give presidency to a Democrat. Also, USA need approx 5 years (per published report) to develop 5G....the tech is there, but need time spent on reconfiguring their USA Defense n Encryption frequency for 5G. That's why US was happily complacent n sleeping on this tech front. Last generation, like Unker was lucky... We has approx 25 years golden period of industrialization n mfg moved to Malaysia.... Before China woke up. We trained our 1st batch of China engineers in 1994, when they stayed 6 months in Penang. Unfortunately, all this time, we took life easy... Hardly, any enterprising professionals moved to tech nor biz start up. All complacent to be millionaires thru MNCs. OK, don't mention abt Gomen.... Totally different story, in case I go jail for Sedition Act. So, now if we don't attract reasonable FDI, likely, well be exporting citizens to other countries as hopefully white collar professionals,.... Not maids n janitors. Language syills again!!!! Go learn Mandarin & likely Russian. Now they have to think some way to attract most but not all FDI. Mega projects may not the answer but facilities, environment and social does. As long as a country not well prepared for advance company. We can forget it becomes leading country in Asia. SEA also become problem lah. |

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Jun 17 2019, 07:19 PM) Can't do without risk of losing votes. Besides, it's our culture. Like Greece also has its own culture. So what I'm saying is, I don't think KLSE going up. Add 50-100 points still possible. ASM x higher dividend requires higher dividend from invested stocks or big fluctuations in KLSE to sell high buy low. Last I read yesterday, more property foreclosures, so banks and property stocks also affected. QUOTE(Unkerpanjang @ Jun 17 2019, 08:29 PM) Agrees with what's shared among Elders. Yup. Major share dropping. This bring chain rxn to asnb and EPF. Tendency for dark-history to repeat itself, as humans don't really learn from their mistakes. That's why Elders n Unkers, have made it a point to share more info, rather than just tactical info on ASX. Most of such macro economic issues are too big for commoners or even small countries like ours to resolve. But, we in this forum can share n suggest for younger n newbie forumers the need to continue with asset allocations, ie safe investments like asnb Fp. So, eventually when SHTF, you are able to protect your loved ones. Don't look down on the amount you have, be it $1k, $10k, $100k,.... build your emergency fund. ...all else being equal, Unker guarantees, you will sleep more peacefully than someone who has $0 n baby hungry. Even MAHB also drop shit. I damn sakit hati. Rhbbank also. Damnmmmm |

QUOTE(roarus @ Jun 17 2019, 10:00 PM) One can hope. I'm bracing for the possibility of 4.5% by ASM2 & ASM3 later this year, 5% for ASM1 if there's a climb Q42018 or Q12019. yea... top holding keep making loss. I don't know how long can asnb sustain. For now this fisherman only wants to achieve a nice balanced pie of ASM1 and ASM2 to pass some time while watching the market swing up and down. QUOTE(beLIEve @ Jun 17 2019, 10:02 PM) MAHB sudah goreng up for almost 2 weeks. SP. asnb all heavy in SP. EPF also same. I don't remember, but someone, either ASM or EPF has a high stake in SP Setia. they won't close 1 eye. They will give excuse to Price Higher, but unfortunately, a lot of properties aren't selling well. Cement price actually dropped a lot. Last 2 months, I bought at $12.50-$13.50 a bag to repair tiles. Now damn props they goreng all the way since 2010. Now gg ad. Where got people afford to buy? crazy price. most of the gov servant cant even afford a sub 500k props. now many docs affected by contract thing and they cant even get the loan. no regulation all wait go south. I personally don't thing props stock will do any good in 2019. same to plantation. asnb hold a lot too. banking sector are always together with prop. finance also wait gg. if the gov still don't buck up, still power hunger and all day long drama. Greece incoming. |

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Jun 24 2019, 06:33 PM) asnb got to play this carefully. 'as long as better than fd' will not protect them long at this rate. yup. I think zeti will now alert our gov. People always relate KWSP KWAP ASNB together. Once either one problems, people will start doubtful. Well, this ASB3 should be a wake up call!!! |
