Would like to check if anybody here has bought the Stockholm Rug from Ikea? It is a wool rug hand-made in India and is supposed to be the highest range of rug in Ikea due to the price. However, the quality of the rug does not seem to commensurate with the price. I found that bits of wool is coming off the rug even without any vacuuming. The loose strands of wool can be seen on top of the rug and tiny strands (tinier than hair) can be seen on the tiled floor and other low furniture in the house.

Does anybody experience the same? The cheap rugs don't show this issue. The only good thing with the Stockholm rug is it"s soft and comfortable to step on when compared to other rugs with different (synthetic) material but it seems to be losing a lot of wool and making the house more difficult to clean.

Anybody experienced the same thing with this Stockholm rug from Ikea?

Yes, all my wool rugs (non ikea) shed wool when new. It will eventually stop if it is in a heavy traffic area. Some of my rugs with less traffic still shedding even after 3 years.

Thanks for the response. Perhaps it is common for wool rugs to shed wool. Your description largely mirrors mine as well because the wool rug in my living room is also subjected to very light traffic. We usually either avoid walking on the rug by choosing to step on the tiled floor, or step on the rug carefully and softly if walking on the rug. The Ikea wool rug is slightly more than a year old and there will be small bits or lumps of loose wool on the surface of the rug in 1 to 2 weeks time after every vacuuming even though there is very light traffic on top of the rug. I'm not sure what causes the wool to come off my itself if it is not caused by foot steps. It seems like the wool automatically comes off by itself which is weird.
