IMO good consumer products like Asus AC68/above or Netgear Nighthawks have better Wifi performance & range than SOHO products like Ubiquity/Mikrotik. Easier to configure too. Of couse Ubiquity/Mikrotik have more features, scalable, more stable & handle multiple users better.

If really want to, one can get Edgerouter X & 2 UAP-AC-Lite for the price of 1 C5400. Excludes adding network point to above floor.

Dunno why but I also find that to be true especially with Mikrotik. Have not used UBNT much to give a comment. My best performing AP is my RM149 Aztech FG7008GR(AC). It sustains 850Mbps on 5Ghz with my MacBook. Aztech is 4x4 while the MacBook is 3x3 for 5Ghz.

I still remember back when I got my RB751G-2HnD, everybody was complaining why it was slower than their D or TPLink.

Probably firmware needs update. I have some problems with other TP-Link products that were solved by updating the firmware.

The firmware is the latest. Do I need to reinstall the firmware?

I know what is causing the problem, the WiFi channel width issue as well as TrendMicro protection. In the interim there are 2 possible fixes:

1. Turn off Smart Connect and Set a static channel for each wireless band, instead of using Auto. And set the Channel Width to the highest setting 40MHz for 2.4GHz and 80MHz for 5GHz. This usually fixes the issue.

If not then also try:

2. Disable the HomeCare Module of your router. This will restore full speed on Wireless and Ethernet connection, however it will cause you not to be able to use the AV, Parental Controls or QOS features until a fix has been developed.

Could be the CPU on the router has overheated. Use a laptop cooler. Put the router on the cooler and switch it on.

The issue is the HomeCare module leading to NAT acceleration being disabled when VLAN is enabled.

You can obtain the beta firmware from my post above which should fix this issue.
