Sungai Buloh is a mix. The area (quite large) is more focus on factories manufacturing furnitures, cabinetry, furniture components and parts, final assembly of components to finished goods for exports or for furniture showrooms.
If you are expecting to see nice showrooms like those along LDP or just before the NKVE, I think you will be disappointed. There are a couple of showrooms but don't expected walk-in nice showrooms. Kian furniture had a warehouse sale last year which they cleared their excess stocks at really good price, but they were odd lots. E.g. 3 chairs stock, spare production when they produced for hotels, etc. Some of the furniture companies in Sg Buloh (actual area is Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh) do produce dining chairs and sell it to retail shops like Commune, Hatch, etc. They don't deal directly with the public. So expect less walk in retail and more wholesale / warehouse sale type. |
