When there is an iOS update, got to wait from like someone to give green light and a new code before you can update. Otherwise, sim lock. That is what I know. Never bought or own 1 before.

on an 8+ right now and thinking is even the Xs worth it. All I want is actually the dual sim function as sometimes I will tend to use 2 sims and need to keep swapping them in and out.

QUOTE(hensky @ Oct 19 2018, 09:28 AM) QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 19 2018, 09:54 AM) My experience using the Xs Max vs ip8+ Buy ipxs only if you have spare cash readily on hand. If you need to save and budget just forget about it The much higher price of the Xs series simply is unjustifiable. Well do consider whether dual sim capability is worth or not QUOTE(attw @ Oct 19 2018, 10:04 AM) I do know that only the China/HK sets are the one with dual physical sims. I guess I'll just stick around with my iPhone 8+. After all, 8+ is the perfected iPhone box-design before they transition to fullscreen-notch design. Maybe I should wait for another 1-2 years before moving on. Even so, got to check the then price of the then iPhones. Price seems to go up higher and higher every year. |

QUOTE(attw @ Oct 19 2018, 10:23 AM) Pre-order from them if not mistaken, u will get ur iPhones on the launch day as they ship it out on the day before. (Shipped on 25 Oct, get ur device on the 26 Oct)Pre-order from Apple online store will require you to wait till Monday or if you are lucky, Saturday to receive it. (Shipped on 26 Oct or even later, receive on the next/next next working day) Now who wants to be the "first" to own the latest iPhone in MY? Of course all buyers. Thats why you see people Q-ing up the night before so that they can be the "first" and show off to their family and friends. This post has been edited by PoisonSoul: Oct 19 2018, 10:27 AM |

QUOTE(attw @ Oct 19 2018, 10:27 AM) Yeah, it also makes sense to hold out a year for the current gen of iPhones, seeing the significant discounts an older iPhone can offer like the 8 Plus which is now retailing at RM3299. Because who wants to go back in tech? Not many. |

QUOTE(attw @ Oct 19 2018, 10:32 AM) 3.01pm... If you think the exchange is important to you, then go for Online store. Otherwise, can go to Authorised resellers to get it FIRST and go brag about it in your social media circle + friends and family. Get your phone direct from Apple and there’s a 14 day one to one exchange in case of any flaws, no other resellers offer that. Those queuing these days are merely in it for the hype. No one in their sane mind would do that these days I guess, but then again, there are a number of insane people still |

QUOTE(syafickham @ Oct 25 2018, 09:31 AM) hi guys, got an offer iphone xs max 64gb for RM4500 US Set hybrid unlock. As per googled, it looks like the phone is semi locked to a carrier. Give you an example.what is hybrid unlock? will there be any problem to use in Malaysia? Phone is locked to Maxis's line. When you boot the device to startup, you must have a valid Maxis sim to "activate" to bypass the "lock". Once u enter the homescreen, feel free to swap sim cards. |

QUOTE(syafickham @ Oct 25 2018, 09:57 AM) I would fork out the extra $$ to buy a sim lock free phone. Telco locks are dangerous. You never know who is the previous owner and they might be able to ask their telco to block ur IMEI and your money is gone to waste. |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Oct 31 2018, 10:53 AM) And spoil their cable business? Nah I think iPhones are gonna stay with lightning for a little while more. UNLESS devs dig up some info in iOS 13 that states iphones support 4K display output. Otherwise, I see no point Apple changing their port. |
