My friend said Versys 650 don't have gear indicator.
Can we buy and install one?

You can. But newer model should have gear indicator on the screen.

Actually I wasn't even sure if newer model has gear indicator. You'll have to confirm with your dealer.

2018 onwards. During the minor update with new colour, matte brown and silver, if I remember correctly.

The matte black and matte orange is first batch since 2015. These don't have gear indicator.

There's price increase of RM400 for the gear indicator batch.

Possible, but why need a gear indicator? Once you're used to the bike, won't need any. Can simply 'feel' it. thumbup.gif

what I feel on my versys X 250
1) Seat very uncomfortable compared to 650 on long ride.
2) Gear ratio too short means 9K rpm on 113km/h (thinking to increase front tooth to 15t)
3) Tube tire due to spoke rim (can be modify to tubeless)
4) FC very good below 105kmh cruising (can get 27 to 30 km per liter), i normally ride 120 to 130kmh which will only give me 20 to 23km per liter. because I would have to refuel 12liter for 250km journey on highway).

Thanks for the feedback. Initially, I’m eyeing for the X250 but most of the sifus here recommended the 650 or the CB500X.

Now my list is just either the V 650 with ABS (waiting until launching ... but don't know when.... or used V 1000.

Just knew one of my friend regretted bought the X250.

Thought about vstrom before. After many review. The smoothness and overall package still versys is better. V Strom has the electronic and v twin though. And bigger front wheel.
