Before my 1st service, the car's gear box is very stiff and hard to shift gear. The car also gave the feel of no power and the steering wheel vibrated heavily when I drove over 100km/hr. After 1st service, the SC helped me to adjust the clutch and changed the gear oil, the gear shift is smooth now and less stress on my leg when pedaling the clutch. The car is also more powerful and I drove over 110km/hr without noticing it. No problem with the car at the moment, after 2000km, just that my bumper was hit and scratched by some lousy driver while parking beside my car.
Below is my fuel consumption, 1.0, manual. The figure in yellow is estimated based on next distance run. While others are based on fuel consumed during last distance run. The odo meter reading is taken at the time of refueling. I refuel when the fuel indicator goes blinking. ![]() I drive from setapak to bandar utama to work most of the time, through jln mahameru, a bit jam. Back using the same route. I rev up to over 3k rpm before shifting to next gear (duno if its the right way). But now starting to change a bit, I shift gear before 3k to see if that saves more fuel but minus the power. Will update again. This post has been edited by allblue82: Sep 16 2007, 11:41 PM |

QUOTE(c_calvin @ Nov 1 2007, 01:28 PM) and another question is that i was told by the sales agent that viva fuel indicator will not reach max even if we pump full tank..is that true? I pump full tank most of the time, everytime start power, the fuel indicator goes to max. Just that the blocks in the indicator goes down faster at the beginning, then slower at the bottom. Which means each block in the indicator does not follow to scale. As i observed, the top block last about 30+km, while the bottom block can last at least 50+km, for my 1.0SX. |

huhu~ wats wrong with buying a perodua car wor? this peyno seems very anti p2 wor...i want to drive a benz also ma, but dont hav the money, so how? buying perodua may not be the best option, but it still hav a cabin, 4 wheels, and does it job to carry me to office and back to home. If it goes rosak, normal lar. Everything goes rosak. U dont expect too much from p2, but u dont be so harsh on it also, if u dont like it, dont buy lar. U dont buy does not mean we are stupid to buy one, rite? We hav chosen p2 over p1 for reasons which are obvious to everyone, and ppl in other countries also. But at least we r not bashing other manufacturer in this thread, rite? unless u started it 1st! freak freak one...
If p2 is bad, we will discuss it among ourselves, we dont need some1 who hate p2 so much n dont own a p2 to giv non-constructive opinion. If u do hav any bad impression on p2, y not discuss peacefully, y must come in hard critism? it's not a parliament here dude! Comments like "japanese wannabe driver" is wrong and sounds more like attacking. Back to FC, mine can go down to 11 sen per km. 8sen per km for an auto 1.0 is quite impossible. It would be the hottest car in the market if that is possible. @lunacy hey, i like ur style, very cautious one. Even the clutch pad relax range u also go measure. Wonder if ur a financial planner? haha. At the beginning i also like u check this check that. But i felt tired after a while, so i gav up, just drive safe and all should be ok... |

Happy New Year Everyone!!
I brought my viva up to genting week ago. The experiance was quite upsetting...maybe because i was newbie driving up there, but the car really no power, with 3 adults in the car. Have to use 2nd gear most of the time, rev up to 4k+ rpm...amazing...so worried that the engine will blow. I'm now still observing whether the car performed better after that trip. TT @ Sunday?
tomolo got call. @lunacy i'm driving manual, i can say my hometown's 24yr old manual toyota have smoother gear box n clutch. but, its normal for a 3-cylinder car, this type of car choked a lot more compared to 4-cylinder, especially when u change gear, release clutch and press gas that moment. I get used to it liao. Kancil also same. Were u driving 4-cylinder car before viva? |

Seems like getting more Viva owners.
I repaint my bumper myself after my 3rd service that day, then on next working day, the side skirt kena scratch in the car park duno by whom. Then the next day, windscreen got small crack when a merz fly-by, on the new putrajaya-kl link, haiz....@#%&*! Can i still get the windscreen covered the next time i renew the insurance? I dont hav it covered for now... My FC still same i guess ~12 cents/km. When the gauge start blinking, still can go for at least 50km, tried that b4, but dont rev too much when start blinking lar. The highest refuel i did was RM58.50, after travelling for abt 490KM. The car is getting more n more noise nowadays, especially when changing gear...but the powertrain still good, n got some improvements (not up hill though) after revving thru this few months. Guys, remember to put out ur signal lights when changing lanes or making a turn, it giv an impression of polite n giv a reason for urself y i want to giv way to u. Really hate those drivers who just switch lanes as they like n so sudden with no signal or somesort, especially during jam, when all cars are packed together, they r just f*****g irritating n annoying, if u hit him, still argues that he is right $%&#*@! |
