as reliable as the weakest link.......which would probably be a human that forgets to lock or a window

a solid door is rubbish at best........and the grill depends on the design and stuff....but the weak link will always be the lock on the grill

RM1399 for a security door is reasonable. But it really depends on their quality though.. Have you visit their showroom and learn about their doors? I am going to get security doors for my main and kitchen soon.. If you are interested, I can share with you what I had learned from my visits and surveys to those showrooms... thumbsup.gif And to those people who advice you not to install security doors, it is like doh.gif and sweat.gif

There is a thread on security door. Go read it up. Common weak link for security doors are the hinges and lock. Make sure the supplier is able to show u or at least convince u how the lock is pry proof.

Don't go for stainless steel 202. It will get corroded quickly. Go for 304.. But do confirm it is 304. Coz I heard some companies cheat customers by telling them it is 304 but in fact it is not. Have to be careful. What other companies have you survey before?

Stainless steel door is a door fully made with stainless steel with normal lock system. Security door is a door made with galvanized steel, powder-coated and comes equipped with high security lock system. That's what I learn from my surveys. laugh.gif But there are also security doors that has normal lock system because those companies are going for volumes by selling their doors at a very cheap price.

If you have the time, you can try to survey Red Rhino Security Doors... I went to the one in Seksyen 23 Shah Alam.. Ended up choosing their doors for my new house after surveying a few brands laugh.gif Since you aren't in a hurry, you can slowly take your time to hear their explanations about their doors when you survey each and every showroom.. Make sure they spent most of the time explaining about their doors and not only on prices.. The other brands I went to, their sales people focused too much time talking about how cheap their doors are instead of how good their doors are, which I wasn't really interested.. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
