It's got nothing to do with the chipset. It's how the VRMs are designed and how it is implemented. The K6 that Skylinestar uses is enough for the 9600k and 9700k. But the 9900k will be pushing it and if OCing that'd be playing with fire.

Not really hunting the K version for oc. Understanding my Mobo already reach its age (in terms CPU support). Already syukur if support latest 9 series non-k.
