Don't think you can get them in Malaysia.

Try Team 108 in Singapore. They are the official distributor of TC Electronic products.

A friend of mine just got one, S$1,500 including everything.

If you really want it, I can pick it up for you. No extra charges. But you'll need to come to Sunway and take it from me lah.

Ahhh... thanks a lot for the email. They retail for EUR 230, so I suppose it would be quite affordable. smile.gif

The estimated price for Voicetone is s$480 a piece but its not yet in stock in Singapore. The exact price for voicelive is s$1328.00. A friend of mine will get it for me when he returns to Malaysia. Hehe.

Rossie: Where did you get the VoiceLive from? Is it a new one? Any reason for wanting to sell it?

My friend's not selling hers, she got it from Team 108 too. I offered to help you buy one from Team 108, as I frequently travel between Sunway and Singapore, I thought I could just pick one up for you if you wanted one. Better if your friend picking one up for you lah, less risky...

Haven't heard much from her about the pedal, seems like she's happy with it. Not much of a vocalist myself, can't really comment on this! Sorry!

I believe the funky thing bout the box is that it has most of the things a vocalist needs.
Compressor/effects/EQ/pre-amp/reverb/limiters, the noise gate and most importantly a sound engineer. The foot switch would be most versatile compared to other TC Helicon products coz you don't have to stay near your mixer when you perform. Take Muse for an example, the vocalist without a doubt have a great voice but he added effects to make their music sound flashier. I believe most vocalist would like to have their own set of equipment as well. Guitarist and bassists have their effects. Wouldn't it be boring to go just jamming with just a mic. Instead of forking out money to get the above mentioned equipments which will probably total up to way more than what the box is valued at and a good PA system would be impossible to afford and to carry around.

Ah yes the pitch corrector. If a vocalist can't reach a particular pitch, he/she just can't or else everyone would be going around sounding like Aerosmith or Beyonce. The box doesn't help in that manner. However for live performances it probably just filters out pitching problems. I would rather use the term assistance rather than inability. The sound engineer for Bon Jovi himself is using this box. We wouldn't at all say that Bon Jovi does not have the ability to sing cause man I believe he have the best rock voice ever. =p

Well my 2 cents. What I really want to know is that if the box is usable by people who did not go to sound engineering school. Thats basically it.

Ha! Yeah, good point there. The TCH VL is one of the best processor that I've seen for that price.

The word "inability" didn't came from me, it came from another vocalist friend that I recommend this product too. He gave me all kinds of weird excuses, including taking this as a "for-fun" only interest, so no need to spend so much money on equipments. Sigh...
Yes, I agree that the VL does filter out pitching problems in live situations, it's an invaluable tool.

BTW, if I remember correctly, Jon Bon Jovi doesn't sound really good in live shows...

Well for me, Bon Jovi is actually one of the few rock vocalist that can sound almost on live similar to his album voice and the best part is when performing live, the band does not alter the music to support to vocal. Live videos can be checked out at YouTube. For an example if you look at Gerard from My Chemical Romance, I have never seen him sing Black Parade like how he sang it in the album. He shifts his key one octave down during the peak. Same goes for Hoobstank. The version of the Reason he did for AOL live was really a let down whereby he went a few keys lower for the chorus.

I do certainly agree that most musicians use the excuse "for fun" when in fact all of them want to be someone in this business. Like how my ex band members did when they screw up in band practice and get yelled at for it for not doing their homework =X.

I am starting to wonder around other TC Helicon products. Lotza questions popped up in my mind. Like how different is Voice Live($799.95) from Voice Works($499.99) apart from the foot switch. The new VoiceWorksPlus($799.95) now has 4G sound modeling and costs the same price as VoiceLive which have 3G sound modeling. However there is not much use for sound modeling in Live situations as it only add vocal inflections such as grit and vibrato. All VoiceWorks products comes with an external foot switch which eliminates having to walk to the rack for adjustments. Sigh I really wonder which is product is actually the one worth throwing RM3,000 at. Hopefully someone who is really PRO in sound can provide a few comments on this as I do not really understand what the technical specs are saying.=(

Okay,

SGD1500 (MYR3670) for the TC Helicon VoiceLive? What a rip-off!! Especially now with the arrival of the Voicelive2

How come they are selling it TWICE the RRP??? Even in the States they are selling these for USD499 (MYR1785)..

This seriously pisses me off.... i could part with RM1800 for it...but 3700??
