QUOTE(soonwai @ Nov 3 2019, 02:06 PM) This may not be enough. candy12 explains this better than anyone else. Using phone hard to search but this might be helpful. Although im not sure why it says business customers QUOTE Contract Terms The minimum subscription period (or contract period) for UniFi is 24 months from the date the service is activated or installed. If the service is terminated before the 24 month period is over, business customers have to pay a termination penalty of RM 500 which will be reflected in the final account bill. Taken from https://www.tm.com.my/Home/Broadband/unifi/...ract-Terms.aspx

QUOTE(sofresh @ Nov 4 2019, 03:53 PM) Thanks for the info. That's a good offer. Better double confirm with Unifi first whether penalty is max RM500 or until end of contract. QUOTE(soonwai @ Nov 4 2019, 04:24 PM) In that case sofresh is good to go for UniFi unless candy12 wants to chime in and save him.

QUOTE(Candy12 @ Nov 4 2019, 09:17 PM) No more since early this year after TM changed their early termination policy from RM500 1-time penalty to remaining months of your 24-months contract. Now if you've just recently signed up for Unifi for a 24mths renewal of your contract, you need to pay 24 remaining months in total to terminate your line. Just think of 24 X your current TM monthly bill as penalty. RM500 where got enough to cover your penalty? Thus both TIME and Maxis has seized this offer to help customers make the switch over. Time has ceased RM500 offer? yeapch01 or jjj2 can confirm this?

QUOTE(Candy12 @ Nov 5 2019, 10:01 AM) Give you the RM500 rebate over few months also won't be able to cover your months of early termination penalty right? Let's say you have 10 months left and you're subscribing to a RM150 plan. Like i've said, it depends whether Unifi changed their termination policy or not because afaik the max they charged for early termination was RM500, that is why Time is offering RM500 rebate as incentive for u to switch provider. I was trying to live chat with Unifi to find out but i forgotten password Where did u get to know they changed their policy? Do you have official link? QUOTE(jjj2 @ Nov 19 2019, 01:20 PM) Hi You can but you no longer under the support from TIME for the Router. Thanks. I dont understand what is the reason Time does not support 3rd party router. In terms of what exactly? Lets say connection keep DC/LOS/blinking on the internet light, that is totally unrelated to router. Does that means Time will not support in this case?

QUOTE(soonwai @ Nov 19 2019, 07:17 PM) Just want to update what happened. Today got the TPLink changed to a DIR-882. I was out of town so my friend went to TIME in Glenmarie to have routers exchanged. Kudos to TIME. Proves that there are real people behind the company who actually listens to their customer's problem. It took awhile but I wasn't really following up on this with much intensity. I bet if this was UniFi, nothing would have been done. Fyi its still a sucky router anyway. Dont expect great performance lah. Btw if u switched from Unifi u would have gotten more than RM500 freebies for 1Gbps subscription. Should have cancelled the 100Mbps

QUOTE(domcobb @ Nov 25 2019, 02:56 PM) Hi. I am planning on getting the TP-Link EC230 through contract renewal. However, I cannot seem to find out the model of that particular router on TP-Link official website. Is there anyone in here who has that router? If so, can you share of the model of that router or a link to it? Much appreciated. https://service-provider.tp-link.com/wifi-router/ec230-g1/

QUOTE(domcobb @ Nov 26 2019, 05:02 AM) Thanks a lot. Are you currently using that router as well? If yes, how’s the performance of it compared to the default router that Time gave out, the D-Link cylinder-like router. No im using Asus AC88

QUOTE(CubeLogic @ Feb 12 2020, 10:34 AM) How is Time actually against Unifi? Been using Unifi for the past four years, 100mbs and now 300 mbs. Probably dropped only a handful of times over this period. Same price for 500mbs for Time. Moving to a new condo in 2 weeks which has both time and unifi. Not too sure which to pick. I work alot online and the reliability matters very very much. Mostly streaming 4k/web tasks I would say more or less the same. The only difference is Unifi comes with Hypptv (depending which package u take)

QUOTE(IntensiveBytes @ Feb 19 2020, 01:49 PM) Hey guys. Just upgraded from my 500Mbps plan to 1Gbps. I have the default EC230 router. What do you guys suggest: 1) I follow up with TIME to get a better router and go through having to wait for a technician 2) Buy my own router - and if so, which router would you recommend for 1Gbps? Small apartment. 3) Keep the EC230. Asus AC88U or AC86U

Just found out TIME website accepts Boost and Grabpay for payment.
But Grabpay does not have scan & pay. Is it possible to change it? because if Grabpay use scan & pay can use points to deduct right?

QUOTE(JeffxMatt @ Mar 13 2020, 10:37 AM) I was just thinking of installing TIME at my rented house (Palace Court Condominium, Old Klang Road) but I now have several concerns, namely: 1. The recent posts about the service disruptions and slow speed; 2. If I were to move and the new place does not support TIME, will I be penalised; and 3. Would TIME be better compared to Unifi for streaming and playing online games (PS4) (this mostly goes back to my concern at no.1 above). Thoughts on the above are very much welcomed, thanks in advance. Im at your area and i didnt experienced slow or distruption. Time will always be better than Unifi.. trust me.. Although their dect phone quality seems sub par compared to Unifi.
