Two options. The cheaper one is to buy an Apple ori 10W/12W power adapter (like the one supplied with an iPad) and use the original lightning cable to charge. Tests show that it's only 15% or so slower than the fast charge option, so it's a good balance between cost and benefits.

The second option is to get a USB C to lightning cable and get the original Apple 30W USB C PD adapter, or any third party USB C PD adapter like Aukey, Tronsmart, etc. It's more expensive but it is the fastest.

How "fast" is the "fast" charging you looking at? The standard cable can give you 12W charging, while if you go to the more expensive route which is the USB C PD is 18W. Frankly the speed is negligible most of the time.

This is for the iPhone X, not sure if XS series comes with charging faster than 18W or not.

But also you know la, the faster you charge the hotter the battery gets = lower life span. If not rushing time just go with the slower modes if you care about battery life, most cost effective should be the widely available 2.4A (12W) USB chargers.

Never had any successful DIY TG over the decade, but this one seems good...I’m surprised the freebies TG is quite good as it covers  wide dimension of the screen (not like some el cheapo TG that will leave obvious lines)

I find XR is not bad buy.

3D Touch is nothing crucial function and 3GB ram is more than enough.
