my perodua viva elite 1.0 AT have been 8 years until recently the engine oil leaking.
After sent to my regular mechanic, they said the flyweel oil seal leak. need to change and it cost me RM1300 (including OEM engine mounting). asked why so expensive, they said many thing need to change (few oil seals) and the engine needs to be lifted and dismantled Y-Y

asked another workshop also comes to rm1400++ (original mounting RM800)

anybody here have similar experience? prices are reasonable right?

Note: i just do a major service 2 weeks ago (engine oil+gear oil + replace fan motor + front absorbers) that cost rm1120 Y-Y
Now another rm1400....just want to check with you all if i got cheated?

if the leaking affected your engine oil level..better repair it. if very2 little..u can use thicker engine oil.

small cars like myvi, kelisa, kancil, etc all have small engine bays

when there's any leak in any of the seals (including fly wheel oil seal), they have to dismantle and take out everything to change it

usually from my experience at perodua SC is RM300 to remove the engine and do what ever thing that u want to replace like engine mounting, clutch, flywheel oil seal. RM300 includes all. the oil seal itself usually is very cheap like less than RM50. plus some dealer can accept outside parts. just pay them labour. that is what i did for my mom's kelisa. bought the engine mounting outside, and ask them to install. and they can even install all 3 without removing the engine unlike most workshops.
