Guys, what's the benefits of esim. Isn't sim card much better & safer cos it's physically inside the Fon always
*
You don't have to physically swap out SIM cards when switching carriers.
You can store multiple carrier profiles on an eSIM. Just turn on/off the respective network that you want to use.
If your device is lost or stolen, it prevents someone from simply swapping out the SIM.

You’re right, there are pros and cons. I still prefer a physical SIM.

Pros:

1.Can store multiple SIM profiles without needing to swap SIM cards.
2.Prevents SIM theft and misuse, though you can still set a PIN code.

Cons:

1.Can’t switch SIM cards instantly.
2.Not all phones support eSIM.
3.Retrieving a new eSIM isn’t always seamless yet

Esim is safer as it cant be stolen/removed as easy as physical one …

If your phone stolen, the person cant pop the sim out immediately (standard sop for people who steal or “accidentally” pick up with intention to keep it … everytime the phone power up will connect to network so making you easier to find your phone last location …

More popular among iPhone users that only have single sim slot … but if you are regular travellers / business trips… esim is convenient as it can store multiple esim profiles - i have 4 not sure what is the max, switching between lines are just click instead of busy finding pin to pop out sim card and replacing and eventually losing the sim …

Hahaha you're right again using the pin to pop out the sim card is very hassle. But I need to make sure my Fon support esim or not. Many thanks for the explanation

my friend who is on hotlink postpaid now, submitted request at maxis centre yesterday to convert to hotlink prepaid.

the staff there said will take around 3 to 5 working days.

and asked the staff if need to change sim card, my friend is on hotlink postpaid (esim), the staff said no need to change. He can continue to use the same esim even after conversion. tongue.gif
