AC : Origins was a pretty okay game to begin with . The game was far from perfect but they have got the game direction right . It was a really pretty game and was still , probably the best A:C game to date ( I like Black Flag but I had more funs in Origin ) . The core of game is still pretty "Ubisoft" ; a vast open world to explore , you get to sneak around , stealing items , killing thugs , sailing ships , engage in open sea combat , getting bounty , killing the bounty hunters , level ups , doing side quest , grinding for upgrades ... etc
Obviously the core of AC : Odyssey has not changed much , since Ubisoft has only got a year to pump out another full fledge , massive open world game .
Although , this time it plays more like an AC version of the Dragon Age RPG game , except without the Dragons and Mages but with Spartans , Minotaurs and Medusa . Odyssey has 2 playable characters , both female and male (bro&Sis ), several NPC to romance , large amount of dialogue choices , decision and consequence . While there isn't anything groundbreaking , the addition of RPG element certainly has open new doors of possibilities for the franchise . They keep all the good stuff from Origins and added in a numbers of improvement from the last game as well .
If the last game bored you to death and you are not exactly a big fan of RPG , then you probably shouldn't be getting it .

The game has been in development since Syndicate actually, not "1 year" but rather nearly 3 years. There are 2 separate teams in Ubisoft now making AC games. The team that made Syndicate is the team behind Odyssey.
I personally think this is the best AC game since AC2. But it isn't even an "assassin's" game actually.

I really wanna play this! Since it allows you to play as a woman. Syndicate was not bad, but this is Greek! Love the historical setting. But damn Ubisoft games are always so expensive. I think I will wait for sales.
Is the game very grindy? I saw reviews saying that it is very grindy.
Open world game, ubikayu made - there's definitely a lot of grind and repetitive activities.
Point is, if you space out your activities and don't do the same shit over and over then the game become less of a chore. You STILL have to go through some form of grinding that's for sure.
