QUOTE(digilife @ Oct 8 2018, 01:25 AM) It was not a penalty in the first place, sohai refree got that wrong Really? Looked pretty stonewall to me. Van Dijk went for it and got none of the ball. If that had happened to us and no penalty given we would be crying out loud for injustice. We did not lose because we have a world cup finalist defender in Lovren & he is my MOTM We are still unbeaten this season. We will come back stronger after the international break The Lovren slight kick on Aguero could easily have been a penalty too. Not that I think it is but I've seen refs give soft ones like those. Fortunately for us Aguero didn't roll around and sell it, who knows that might sway the ref's decision. |

Lallana was the constant in both matches against Huddersfield and Cardiff. He was often too slow and took too many touches that killed our counter attacking chances. Maybe it's just rustiness after such a lengthy layoff, but it's hard to see him getting back to his peak at his age now. If he doesn't significantly improve over the course of this season maybe it's time to sell him at the end of it.
Our attack immediately looked infinitely better as soon as Shaqiri came on to replace him. Shaqiri much like Ox offered the much needed drive and penetration we need from midfield, without of which we looked extremely toothless and lacking invention. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Oct 28 2018, 02:48 PM) it was quite bad in the first half... something like 85% possession and 1 shot on goal? kinda like BR teka teki era... Wouldn't say it was anything particular that happened during half time. We came out of the half more or less the same as the first even when we scored our 2nd. The game changed only when Cardiff scored one. They smelled blood and they went for it, opening up space for our counter attacks. Of course, Shaqiri coming on helped massively too.and some kinda talk obviously happened during half time... although klopp was also obviously never happy even tho the goals came later. Our attack so far this season really struggles in tight spaces for whatever reason. Lots of over and underhitting passes. Sometimes we just take one touch too many just outside of the box trying to be too fancy. |

QUOTE(digilife @ Oct 30 2018, 09:29 AM) Damn it There's just no stopping Pep. Their attack is just as good as last season and their defence is looking even better.Spurs stand no chance against Citeh's fluid football !! However, their defence managed to keep the scoreline low ..... Watch City, Liverpool and Chelsea all finish with 100 points but City win the league courtesy of +100 goal difference. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 2 2019, 05:03 PM) modern wingbacks play wider than the traditional wingers tho. But Shaq is not our #10, Firmino is, with Salah up top most of this season.also even with a proper no10, the question still is why need a proper no9... hence again 4213... ie. shaq behind the roaming 3 of mane, salah and firmino. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 2 2019, 08:52 PM) how is firmino a no10 with shaq on the field? It's not a matter of opinion, it's Klopp's tactics this season. Have you not watch us all season? Salah's been the one playing as our out and out striker. Don't believe me? Google it.and yes, shaq has played the no10 role with the 3 on the pitch...tho its always been a 4231 with shaq in the hole behind either salah or firmino depending where the other is on the pitch. Here. Direct quote from Klopp himself on our official website with map of average position too. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team...irmino-position This post has been edited by Cloud0890: Jan 2 2019, 09:22 PM |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jan 2 2019, 10:03 PM) that doesn't really say firmino plays the traditional role a no10 does. They aren't. That's why their average positions are still behind Bobby.how bout bringing up hendo or gini's heatmap? they aren't no10s too right. And no he isn't a #10 in the traditional sense like a Pablo Aimar if that's what you meant but does it matter? He is a modern #10. Point is Klopp has moved more towards a 4-2-3-1 this season to accommodate Shaq and Fabinho. Key being Salah moved central with Firmino behind him. So for all intents and purposes, he is in fact playing mostly as a 10 for us this season. Not an opinion, just an already well documented fact. Just google "Firmino position change". QUOTE Now this season has come a new approach, right from the first match of the campaign. It started with Firmino operating almost at the tip of a diamond in open play, allowing Salah and Mane to operate high and central, and in recent games has seen Firmino start as an outright No. 10, behind Salah the striker in a 4-2-3-1. The question for Klopp is: Does he see something even further, even more to come from Firmino himself in this role? Or is it more about helping the tactical development of the team with extra support attacker, an all-rounder, supplementing the pace and lethal edge of Salah and Co.? It’s an important question because it will impact on how Firmino is seen, by supporters and pundits alike. As a ’10,’ he’s much more Steven Gerrard than, say, a Mesut Ozil-type, to put it into Liverpool terms. Which is to say, he’s a strong runner from deep, he’ll drop into the midfield line, he can be a goalscorer through movement and timing—but much less a dribbler or a more static, through-ball-playing stereotypical playmaker. With Firmino in there, it’s two systems in one: 4-5-1 off the ball, 4-4-2 on it, rather than just a 4-2-3-1 at every stage as there might be with a true No. 10 in place. QUOTE(lcy851031 @ Jan 5 2019, 12:20 AM) Loan Clyne, Sell Solanke to Bournemouth, Klopp want to empower Bournemouth to troll other team in BPL? We’re just a feeder club to Bournemouth just like Southampton is to us lol.Ibe, Brad Smith, and Solanke, Bournemouth buy a lot of reserve team player from us. QUOTE(kenlimfornication @ Jan 5 2019, 02:07 AM) Solanke move seems inevitable. But Clyne is TAA's backup. Not sure that is the right move or we are targeting another wing back? Weird we would let him go in the middle of a title challenge, but he was looking to be on the way out for awhile now. He’s barely played since TAA broke into the first team. Milner, Joemez, Fabinho can all play there with Ki Jana Hoever now promoted to the first team as well just a few months after joining us. |

Apparently Trent pulled up during warmup, Milner might replace him at RB for the match.
Klopp might really come to regret loaning out Clyne and not dipping into the winter market for reinforcements at both RB and CB positions. |

Zaha absolutely ripped Milner a new one today.
Best player outside the top 6 no doubt. Would gladly have Zaha in our team though extremely unlikely considering the fee he would command. |
