better spend some money to nurture our own harry wilson. but sometimes spending big is necessary as statement of intent.

mané played well this season despite not scoring as much as he should with the chances that he had. he also provides a good cover for robertson in defense. but I think he need a good competitor to up his game. perhaps Ox can play as LW once he's fit again.

This will be awesome, however its Citeh title to lose I think. They are so strong this year with good depth. No harm wishing the best for us. YNWA.

I notice that gergen pressing style is less aggressive this season. I think it is to balance both balance and attack and this might have nullify Firmino a little as he is the Kuyt type of player but with better technique and skill. Tireless and continuous pressing.
*
I think this match (and the home match against PSG) were the closest we get to last season gegenpressing. The rest are more control approach.

We still haven't replaced Coutinho, which is a creative outlet that every world class team need to have if we were the challenge for titles.

So Mainz 05 is not amused by Klopp's most recent pitch invasion antics. laugh.gif

Klopp had been fined 8000 by FA + warning.

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Burnley:

No problem with FA ruling
QUOTE
"I couldn't avoid it. If you break the rules you have to be fined for it. The last time I did that was 14 years ago. I'm not as quick now."

QUOTE
"I can say it will not happen again."

QUOTE
"If there was no rule then managers would constantly celebrate on the pitch. I don't think anyone thought it was massively wrong. It happened, a fine, I'll pay it, no problem."

Mane big doubt for Burnley, with Robertson also a worry
QUOTE
“Sadio and Robbo we need to have another look at today,” he told reporters.

“Sadio has a really awful cut on his foot, it needed to be stitched.

“It’s OK, but he’s walking in flip-flops and we don’t play in flip flops! Today he’s not ready, but will see later.

“With Robbo it’s not that serious, but we need to have a look.”

Full focus on Burnley
QUOTE
"We know about the specific challenge - Burnley is a tough place to go. We have to make sure we are ready. Burnley had the killer competition of playing in the EL qualifiers. Now they are 100% in the league. No easy games."

On Alisson
QUOTE
The best thing about the goalkeeper is if you don’t have to speak about the goalkeeper. If you speak about him, hopefully it’s positive and hopefully it can carry on like this. He is a calm person, quick in his mind and has had many good moments.

On Firmino
QUOTE
“It's absolutely okay, it's completely normal," said the Reds boss. "It's not that he plays his best football in each second of the game.

"He is absolutely an important player. That's how it is with a player's career.

"You have these moments when you fly and you can't really explain it and other moments when you have to work harder for the moment you fly. That's the case exactly for him.

"It's nothing to worry about or anything. It's just a normal football season. We all have to go through these little holes or whatever and everything will be fine again.

"Especially for him as his attitude is absolutely phenomenal and that makes it easier for him. He will never stop and everything will be fine."

Backs Origi - and Solanke
QUOTE
There was nothing to criticise. Divock and Dominic Solanke aren’t in fantastic situations in the squad but they set wonderful examples for being ready for the moment. That’s football, things change in a second. I don’t know how long he played, 10 minutes? Three really good situations. Good cross for Daniel, crossbar, goal. Divock was ready and he wanted it. It’s nice for him.

absolutely right. the only thing we are lacking is that clever goal-scoring playmaker. That's what I enjoy watching Pep's City. He always put two creative playmaker among his 3 midfielders.. always.

Ox did well last season to fill the role of coutinho thou. too bad we miss his bursting pace this season. With Fekir transfer collapsed, Keita supposedly to play the role but hasn't yet been able to replicate his brilliance just as he shown with Leipzig. Maybe Klopp knew the issue and maybe that's why he revert Bobby back to his old position as a no 10.
