How's umobile network coverage these days ? I noticed umobile has provided 5g in my area, so it has improved significantly in my area. I could get about 500 Mbps at home.

But how about outside of Klang valley, has it also improved ?

gps navigation doesn't utilize much of the said 5g speed imo
*
This is a check on its average coverage, not a check on its available download speed on specific point of presence.

Any idea why there is no connection on my wifi router after I insert my umobile sim card?
*
Check the integrity of the SIM on a capable phone first, then you can distinguish between problem with the sim or the router.

this is the question I raised to  U Mobile CS. They emphasize that their network are mostly upgraded to 5G and VoLTE is the requirement. so those phone without VoLTE will be having issue of outgoing and incoming call. So my scenario is similar like your data no issue, sms no issue. The only problem is hardly making call(redial many times) and 95% unable receive call
*
Is there any public numbers which one can use to verify call in and call out ?

I think my issue is not related to VoLTE or VoWIFI.
It's related to cannot receive incoming call but can make outgoing call.
So it's something to do with telco, forcing us to migrate to newer phones.
*
Can make call but cannot receive call, isn't that is something complainable to MCMC ?

I subscribed to U Home 68 yesterday and it’s all good. thumbup.gif

I remember many years ago that we can buy prepaid reload and use it to pay to a postpaid no. Is this method still working these days? That means I fill in the U Home 68 no. when I reload?

Thanks.
*
Have you downloaded umobile app on to the phone? I think that would be more likely the right mechanism to pay to the U home 68.

T&C empty

3 days 50 GB is not a big thing. Can the beginning of the 3 days be specified as when needed ?

I faced the same even with non-5G device. Yesterday, even a restart didn't bring back 4G signal lost while in the lift. Had to wait several minutes for recovery to 4G.
*
Yes, we face the same issue, but for your case, need to wait for several minutes, that seems to point to network failure.

I recently encounter a bad experience with this provider

Due to their recent migration work of decomm 3g and move to 4g / VOLTE , i was experiencing erratic call drop, unable to make calls and data connectivity issue.
i did raise a complaint via their chatbot but it didn't get thru ( as per their claim) .

Been using their service about 6 month which was ok till recently. I was using a MI 10 5g phone.

3 weeks of poor reception service, thought it was my phone issue and decided to get a new one.
take note, this period, i already file a complaint with MCMC and the provider have yet to revert on the status of the complaint

Sign up for 1 of those rahmah package and gotten my self a honor 90 lite.
all of a sudden , everything was working fine.

This is when the service provider came back and say that my old phone was not supported becoz it does not support 4g/volte

feel cheated as the cause of the problem was by the provider migration work

now buta buta bought a phone for no reason and worst, tied to a 24 month contract

follow up with provider, they not willing to waive the early termination fees as i agree and sign the contract. (wtf)

Super piss with the outcome .

What are the options available to dispute this case?

1. - i no longer want to use this useless provider
2. - provider insists me to pay full penalty ( early termination fees)

Any suggestion are welcome

Your phones really so old ? I think phones 3+ years ago already can do LTE.

I think the problem unable to receive and answering calls happened to xiaomi phone. My daughter has xiaomi 10T almost $2,000 phone but cannot received calls.

We have huawei, oppo realme , Samsung all no problem except xiaomi.

I will avoid this brand.
*
Out of curiosity, the problem of not able to receive call, if it happens, it is for all calls or it is for some calls ?

so can someone confirm, very old plan cannot use 5G?
i put on 5G phone, only use 4G
*
Maybe you have an old SIM. The old plan could be replaced or automatically superseded to become new plan, but old SIM need to be replaced.

U prepaid plan has access to 5G. I suggest you talk to their customers service, maybe you need to change the SIM.

Good for those on 38 plan. They are the biggest winner.
*
Even when at 60Gb, I only used a tiny fraction of the quota. I think using 5G drain battery faster than WiFi, so when WiFi is available, I use it whenever possible.

anyone experience like try ask for OTP and sometimes wait forever the OTP never arrive? sometimes need to click request again then suddenly 2 OTPs received... but sometimes request many times still no OTP...

is this UMobile issue or bank OTP server issue?
*
Banks are moving away from SMS based OTP. Maybank for example, use the installed app authentication, even for credit card.

5G congestion is real.
If your area no 5g coverage then nothing you can do. 5G is the same as it uses DNB infra. Find a telco with good 4g in the area you live
*
Where is the congestion?

If the complain is only at various spots such as Sri Damansara, then it appears to be a base station local issue ?
