Any of you guys using Pixel 7 and UMobile and having difficulties making and receiving calls? I just ported from Yoodo. 5G, 4G and data transfer is fine but it is very difficult to make and receive calls. I have dug into the settings and so far unable to find anything amiss

QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Sep 6 2024, 02:26 PM) . AFAIK, if the other party making or receiving your calls is using an old non-VoLTE smartphone, there will be this problem = you may need to set your Mobile network to 2G or GSM for better call quality. Also try switching on/off Speaker Phone. . Upon further trying, I found it only occurs if I am on 5G. If I force the phone to connect to only 4G I have no problems whatsoever.

QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Sep 7 2024, 09:43 PM) . That likely mean the other party making or receiving your calls is using a non-Vo5G smartphone, ie using a 4G VoLTE phone. Note that DNB's NSA 5G frequency is mostly on 3500MHz which has much poorer wall/object penetration than 4G's 800MHz to 2600MHz. So, when behind walls/windows or buildings/trees, better to stick to 4G. . The phone should fallback to VOLTE if that happens right? Not entirely sure if the fallback depends on the network or the phone. Not even sure if Pixel 7 supports VONR. I guess no other way other than to force it onto 4G only.
