QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Sep 26 2022, 05:44 PM) Correct me if I'm wrong but I think SIM card nowadays are already compatible with 5G, hence no need to change SIM unless it's too old. I believe our 4G sim technically can be used on 5G network, it depends on the Telco arrangement and DNB arrangement. When U Mobile was having their 5G trial in Berjaya Times Square back then (when DNB didn't exist), my SIM was able to connect to their 5G network. You see Yes previously have 4G plan and their 4G sim card cannot register on 5G network, even 4G LTE 700Mhz also cannot register, so I believe they did some setting on checking the SIM card number and decide whether allow to register on DNB network or not. |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Jun 23 2023, 02:39 PM) SoyaCincau wrote: If use it as a hotspot then cannot fully utilize the 5G speed (assuming 5G speed can up to 500Mbps)According to U Mobile’s website, they are recommending the ZTE MC801A1 (5G) router (Shopee, Lazada) which costs RM1,699 and the ZTE MC8020 (5G) router (Shopee, Lazada) priced at RM1,799. Since the SIM supports hotspot usage, you can also put this on your spare 5G smartphone and use it as a hotspot. will think about this once my M broadband contract is finished. |
