But the experience was quite seamless 
I ported in to U Mobile from Celcom recently, I was surprised that their coverage improved quite a lot, speed is decent too.

However, there may be some areas where the network is a little spotty (eg: full bar 4G+ but video keeps loading for a little while). But overall, I feel U Mobile is more stable than Celcom from where I live and usually go, I'm in Klang Valley too.

Good 4G LTE wall penetration for indoor use requires low frequency bands, which are only available for TM Unifi Mobile(= 850MHz = Band 5) and Maxis(= 900MHz = Band 8). The other celcos have only 4G LTE high freq bands of 1800MHz to 2600MHz.

Only when U Mobile converts its 3G/HSPA+(= 900MHz = Band 8) cell towers to 4G LTE, would indoor signal reception improves. .......

It's odd that news reports and the U Mobile website seem to have conflicting information about its 2G RAN Sharing, ie is it with Maxis or with Celcom.?  .......

Maybe U Mobile has just changed it's 2G RAN Sharing from Maxis to Celcom.

Can anyone else confirm that U Mobile is RAN sharing 2G from Celcom and not Maxis, ie for basic voice calls and SMS only, ie not for 4G LTE Internet data.?

P S - When all the celcos sunset 3G at the end of this year, 2G and 2G RAN Sharing will be the fall-back for basic voice calls and SMS. This fall-back is needed because 4G LTE Internet data signal (for Internet, VoLTE and IMS) has a max range(= max power setting of the cell tower) of only 5km/3 miles(usually it's effective range is 1km only) whereas 2G voice calls/SMS has a max range of 32km/20 miles, eg for calling emergency services like 999 in non-urban areas.

P P S - If the range of 4G cell towers is 1km, they can be spaced 2km apart for full map coverage, especially in rural areas. Each 4G cell tower can serve about 500 users at any one time. In urban areas, 4G cell towers are often spaced about 800m apart or less because of too many users. So, in urban areas, 2G voice calls/SMS are often not needed as a fall-back, eg for calling emergency services like 999.

In my case, my aunt house is at Jerantut. Umobile used to get 3G or H+ there 3 years ago. Went to complaint it on Umobile website,6 months after get 4G line there.

Another since im outstation in Lumut, almost all Perak area come with 4G LTE.

Looks good there , I have trying most telcos except umobile , I did call umobile to check they say got coverage but on the ground  not sure worry like last time  very frequently stuck after few month of usage

same here. purchase the line based on location needed and find which one faster. last time was transfered to Lumut perak, surprisingly all Perak area cw 4G LTE without error. early this year, transfered to Labuan, yeah 4G LTE all round. even my buddies with Celcom, Maxis struggle with slow connection at the Labuan yard (maybe located at kg area) and borrow my hotspot for MT meeting. another example, last time my wife kg Jerantut Pahang cw H+ line only, now already upgraded to 4G LTE since 4 years ago.

I prefer to get postpaid <rm100 monthly

I've been using U Mobile for 1 year. Last time I feel so disappointed with this telco when I used it on 2019 due to network coverage.

I tried again this year and I'm mpressed with the improvement. The network coverage is stable in my area and when I'm using GPS, I didnt experience any problem.

During the recent flood situation, I'm part of the flood victim, u mobile performed better than digi in my area

They have set the wrong priorities, for example both U Postpaid 68 and 98 have free 15GB roaming data, they could've used it for the hotspot quota instead so at least people can use more hotspot. Correct me if I'm wrong, but how often does an average Malaysian travel abroad especially in this situation anyways? Even if one travels abroad, they can either afford to roam or just get a tourist SIM card from that country instead.
I wouldn't put my hopes high since DNB is gonna suck the telcos dry once they accept the deal, and then telcos will probably try to bring the burden to us consumers so they still can get profit, U Mobile is already doing this now by giving pathetic amount of hotspot quota.

But hopefully still, some competition will remain so consumers can have more reasonable choices.

I have been using umobile for at least 6 - 8 years. so far i don't have any major complain on the line. even at rural areas. initial stage there was blind spot along KL-johor highway but now its all good. i do have complain celcom and digi though. I think so far umobile is offering the best value. don't like their refund process though. take the ages even though it was their mistake.

also just change plan from P99 to postpaid 98...with less post hotspot..damn
