Hey there, peeps. while I was looking at some options, I somehow just noticed that umobile coverage exists in some parts of where I live (in Sabah).

However, I also noticed that Sarawak has zero coverage.

Now let's say I opt for umobile postpaid, and from a covered area, I go into Sarawak (zero coverage).

What will happen? Will the umobile plan I have become useless / dead? Or will it roam and piggyback on other telco? Would there be charges? Or would there not be charges?

Can anyone kindly shed light into this?

Best to test U Mobile coverage by buying a prepaid Starter Pack for about RM10 before subscribing to a postpaid plan.

If you go into Sarawak and there is no U Mobile 4G/5G coverage, you will not be covered - afaik, UM has no 4G/5G roaming agreement with other celcos. If no 4G/5G coverage, UM has 2G roaming agreement with either Celcom or Maxis, ie mostly for voice calls and SMS only = no Internet data.

Afaik, UM mostly has coverage in urban and suburban areas, especially around areas along highways and main roads, ie UM lacks rural coverage.

Celcom has the best rural coverage for 4G and 2G because it is a GLC.

Well, I'm on the grandfathered Digi unlimited i150, but if this plan is better and has coverage where I am (especially balik kampung) I don't mind really switching over. But we will see.
