This thread is for praises and complaints about U Mobile. However, if it goes overboard, we will take further action to issue warning and nuke related posts. Do not purposely trigger unnecessary by making flame-bait posts.

Kindly post responsibly.

Is there any laws in Malaysia saying that I am guilty if I asked someone to take care of his wife and family?

Can anyone enlighten me why issue about TM UniFi Mobile is heavily discussed on this thread? I don't understand.

Note that some complaints about UMobile are actually users' fault/ignorance or users doing it wrong, eg never check location coverage or do testing before subscribing, complain that could not do online gaming which is not suitable for 4G, unaware that UMobile's 4G LTE Band 7/2600MHz is easily blocked by walls,  their budget phones do not support LTE Band 7, ignorant about the T&C which limits video-streaming to SD/480p/1Mbps and throttles to 0.5Mbps for FUP,  the high credit limit is not for users to delay paying their monthly postpaid phone bills beyond the due date, etc.

.
I cited judehow's complaint against TM Unifi Mobile to prove that some of the complaints against UMobile could similarly be the partial fault of users not doing testing before subscribing and/or ignorant of the fact that walls/buildings can block 4G/3G cell signals, eg a high-rise building near the users' house blocking UMobile's cellular data from reaching their smartphones. Users wisely testing a celco's cellular signal with it's prepaid Starter Pack or a friend's existing celco subscription would have prevented such a problem. Users can also do this visually, ie lookout for high-rise buildings nearby their house/office and for the nearest cell towers.

Then stephantsen questioned my point or proof by saying the users should not be blamed and TM Unifi Mobile had fixed judehow's problem. And so .......

Very simple boss..

Just to prove its all users problem..
Wrong device used or stay in wrong location where's there's high building blocking the UMobile signal.

U Mobile is not responsible at all...
100% users fault. Since have case study in Unifi Mobile. Can use same argument here in this topic.

That's all 🙏

Got it. So, stop this kind of war and move on. Discuss rationally and constructively.

How many times I want to repeat this? Nobody is interested to know if your post is reported. No need to broadcast here. One more time, off to holiday!

Also stop posting things which are flame-bait. Can stick to U Mobile or not? Or want me to close down this thread?

Enough is enough. So much of nonsense here.

Short replies do not mean they do not have substance. I am very used in replying with just one word - "Yes". So, no substance? Nope. Straight to the point unlike some long winded replies which carry no substance/meaning.

Short replies do not mean spam if they explain well.

I'm always amused why this thread always gets so many reports compared to other threads? Anything which I'm not aware about? Comparison of telcos is allowed but overdoing it can mean fanboyism and instil hatred. As matured individuals, I expect matured behaviors and mindsets if you want to post in this section.

Debate in a proper manner. Don't need to quote all sorts of Acts here because I have the say in this section. Don't like? Then don't post. Yes, I'm arrogant but you guys forced me to be one.

No, Maxis Hotlink was not straightforward. Maxis only revealed its FUP limits for its new 4-June Hotlink Unlimited Prepaid daily, weekly and monthly passes after 3 days(ie on night of 6 June 2020) when confronted by users who tested its "unlimited" daily RM3 passes to be throttled at the 5GB limit.
....... Is Maxis's FUP limit of 50GB per month for its HUP35/45 plans fair and reasonable.? Is a HUP45 subscriber using >50GB per month abusive of Maxis's 4G network.?
.

So far, most celcos do not publish their FUP limits for their "unlimited" 4G phone plans on their websites = mostly revealed from tests by users, eg on forums and support sites. Hence, we know that Maxis's postpaid "unlimited" premium/high-end 4G phone plans have an FUP limit of 300GB per month, Digi's postpaid "unlimited Infinite 150 plan has an FUP limit of 1TB(= throttled to 5Mbps), TM Unifi Mobile's postpaid "unlimited" RM59 plan promo has an FUP limit of 50GB per month(= throttled to 3Mbps) and UMobile's "unlimited" GX plans have a normal FUP limit of about 100GB(= but not enforced since Dec 2019). .......

https://www.imoney.my/articles/which-is-the...lan-in-malaysia - June 12, 2019
''''''' However, do note that ‘unlimited plans’ may not literally offer you unlimited bandwidth. Your plan will come with a Fair Use Policy, which means that you cannot use your available bandwidth in a way that can be interpreted as abuse of your telco’s services. If you’ve been using an extraordinarily large amount of data (eg, consistently using your data to torrent large files), your telco could suspend your service. This data limit will vary according to your telco, and not every telco will reveal what this limit is. '''''''
.

TL;DR. Digi Infinite 150 is throttled to 10Mbps after reaching 1TB but can be reset at anytime.

QUOTE(azhar75 @ Jun 8 2020, 02:52 PM)
Old news. Back to 1TB now, it was 300GB during MCO but not an issue because users can reset all the time. So technically not like other telcos which have to wait until bill recycles.

All telcos at my hometown too work just averagely, not too good but once stand in front of our house, speed flies. Neighbours jamming our line? laugh.gif This is so funny.

It simply means the walls in the house are distracting the signals.

As a professional who works in telco industry gives me privilege, wait till I go back office I will ask those engineers and managers, what are the probabilities one's signal can be jammed by neighbours. I lazy to ask them now via online.

What is "celco"? I have seen it in this thread and I Googled, no such thing as "celco", all results show they are company's name.

Celco = short for cellular company; to differentiate from telco like TM Unifi Fiber or Time Dotcom Bhd. Similarly, cellphone vs telephone.

I see. Surprisingly, we never call ourselves celco. laugh.gif
Never seen this term anywhere internally.

Chill bro, what makes you think that the members inciting you aren't dupes themselves? icon_idea.gif
We the general public Malaysians are not allowed to create dupes because they have a system to detect our computer fingerprints but those behind the team that runs this public message board?

It is known fact that the postings in kopitiam area are mostly generated by internal staffs especially those popular members who posts non stop daily there. They are NOT random accounts owned by the general public as you know because no regular person will spend so much time posting his thoughts and mind at such rates.

Hey guys,

Anyone using the U Mobile GX30 or GX38 internet data on PC or laptop, As in, is there a way, to access the normal (unlimited) data through PC/laptop?

Hotspot obviously uses the hotspot data, and usb tethering also uses the hotspot data, has anyone used a 4g dongle? Does it use the hotspot data too, or does it access the unlimited data?

is there any other way to use the unlimited data through pc/laptop? (when I say laptop, I mean a laptop without a sim slot.

Thanks in advance!!
*
Dongle also uses tethering.
