A few years ago, I used UMobile and had a really bad experience with poor coverage out of town and unstable internet. I switched to Maxis and it solved all my issues. Now, I’m hesitant to try UMobile again. There’s a saying, “Don’t fix it if it’s not broken.” It might be great for budget conscious users, but for work, it’s just not reliable in my previous experience

Here’s what worked for me:

I decided to use two SIM cards—one for internet and another for phone calls. I registered a new postpaid line with U Mobile as my primary internet line while keeping my Digi SIM to handle incoming calls.

To test U Mobile’s coverage, I used it extensively during Ramadhan, traveling across multiple states, including KL, Selangor, Kelantan, Perak, and Pahang. The coverage was impressive—I only experienced one connection drop during a brief 10-minute drive along a 5 km stretch of road between Kuala Betis & Lojing. Using Apple CarPlay in my car also allowed me to monitor exactly where I lost cell coverage.

The positive experience convinced me to transfer all my family lines to U Mobile. It’s been 11 months now, and I’m very happy with the service.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the last I heard, Umobile is sharing towers with Maxis now. If that’s true, the coverage should have improved a lot la.

all telco are sharing infra to each others since day 1.
but if u say MOCN, not possible. if u say gov based jendela MOCN, then big 3 are doing host each other at different regions.

if u mean domestic roaming, not possible also. currently only unifi mobile domestic roaming with maxis.

So basically 365/60 * rm5 , top-up around 30 per year on every 59th day? Will they send reminder in case forget top-up? During passive state, incoming calls and sms still working?

if the line not Terminate , during inactive 60day still can received call and sms , normally i will received sms remind 7day before terminate , so i topup around that day , maybe around 55day topup incase forgot , not try before maybe will sms remind again 3day left
