QUOTE(JLA @ Sep 13 2023, 09:54 AM) hotspot - sharing internet from mobile phone only. put sim card inside modem become 'no internet' ultra hotspot - sharing internet from any device. modem, router, phone, cpeumobile start *ultra hotspot* thing since u 98 5G plan and GX prepaid ultra hotspot pass add ons umobile know some user using modem to sharing the internet. so everybody happy u 98 5G no contract targeting "5G wireless fiber" 2 years lock-in plan U home 5G is updated long forget u broadband plan . Afaik, the highlighted statement above is very likely not true bc if true, the Ultra Hotspot 5G via 4G/5G modems would have cannibalized U Mobile's own recent U Home 5G Broadband plan via own 4G/5G modems @RM68 per month no-contract offer. ....... https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/support/te...motion-10th-feb - T & C .... b. Once Ultra Hotspot 5G is applied to your U Postpaid 38, U Postpaid 68 and U Postpaid 98, your data is shareable via mobile hotspot/data-sharing. Mobile hotspot quota which is shared with other devices will be drawn from the Main data bucket of your rate plan. ... Of course, afaik, UMo mostly detects "illegal" heavy data-users of Ultra Hotspot 5G via modems, then warns and/or blocks them, eg use 30GB of data in one day or use up the 200GB data quota every month for the U68 plan or use up 1,000GB every month for the U98 plan, ie IOW "illegal" light or non-max-out monthly data-users of Ultra Hotspot 5G via modems may escape detection. . QUOTE(4WD_er @ Sep 13 2023, 03:44 PM) That's right. With U98 you can have the ultra hotspot activated thru the app. Got it and no contract right?

Of course, last time each telco has respective dedicated network to serve each pool of customer, right now under the wholesale network model, all pools merge and use the same 5G network. How can it be not slow?

Lol forgot we have umobile thread in here
Thinking to change my gx68 plan to u68 or even u38 since my usage only about 75gb per month
Mind sharing 5g speed (regardless of time) in gombak or keramat area?

I just want to say, recently switched to maxis for volte roaming in USA, but when I got back to Malaysia Jesus Christ is it bad
Volte cannot even sustain call for more than 20 seconds at my home, with full 4G
Sometimes call can last for a few minutes, but it cuts out multiple times and cannot hear the other person for a few seconds
Sometimes volte fails all together and drops down to 2G calling, which sounds bad but at least doesn’t drop
I can’t believe maxis premium network is having such teething problems with their “volte” network, it truly is shocking paying so much more, receiving so much less data, and still can’t even make a simple call
Can’t even use vowifi at home because maxis blocks it unless signal is low, and I can’t be putting my phone on airplane mode just to make a call on WiFi

Just lodge a report to Umobile, they had shutdown 3G services and those phone without VOLTE will have issue receiving calls if you are on a 4G network. you need to switch to 2G Edge to receive calls... so bullshit

But recently not sure what umobile did it is not working anymore at my area. I was traveling out of my area then i am able to receive call. I'm sure they had misconfigured some settings maybe at some cell tower or station.
